• Primary responsibilities include spearheading the head contract and subcontractors and supplier’s commercial management. Other responsibilities include Client’s interfacing, evaluation of variations/claims, handling insurance and bond matters, resolving disputes and finalising account.

• Working in close coordination with Document Control and QA team to develop communication logs for head contract issues and also downstream life cycle.

• Responsible to prepare and manage RFP, prequalifications, compliance statement, bid documents, negotiations with all aspects of supply chains under the Contract.

Ø Redesigning piles to shallower foundation following recalculation of building loads Ø HVAC system building services that resulted in minimisation of Client’s capex and opex.

Extensively using estimating softwares to monitor budget and productivity during implementation. At tail end of the Project, undertook lead negotiator’s role spearheading a team of engineers, quantity surveyors and accountants successfully answering audit queries from reputable auditor acting on behalf of project owner. Successfully negotiated a final settlement agreement with the project owner including assisting in drafting the terms and conditions of the said agreement.

Key Contribution:

• Drastically increased the profit margin to nearly 200% by aggressively but reasonably negotiating contracts with 220 vendors throughout the course of the project.

• Under a Cost-Plus contract arrangement, successfully presented opinions with proper evidence during Client audit process achieving full Client’s satisfaction.

1) Kuala Lumpur Putrajaya Highway (KLPH) 45 km Elevated & At Grade Highway for the Ministry of Works, Malaysia, (USD$ 220 Million) KLPH linked the main and traditional business centre of Kuala Lumpur City to the Malaysian Government new Administrative Centre in Putrajaya City. Key Contribution:

• Involved as part of the regional business division commercial and contractual members advising on policies, plans and strategies.

• Carried out audits, attended management forums, prepared minutes of meetings and reviewed monthly financial health of the Project.

• At the end, Project was able to maintain profit margin close to tender reported margin with amicable closure.

2) 10,000 units of 5 storey pre-casted building under Teacher's Housing project in about 55 project site locations spread across Peninsular Malaysia for the Ministry of Education, Malaysia (USD$ 200 Million).

Key Contribution:

• A senior member of quantity surveying team of ten (10) personnel that successfully negotiated a final account value that increased by more than 30% from tendered value. Achievement predominantly came from identifying external and ancillary works.

• Profit margin increased by two-fold by the end of the project.

• Spearheaded the cost controlling exercise on capital and operating expenditures for precasting activities for the building unit precast segments that included land rental, gantries, moulds and precast yard running costs.

• Managed the logistical requirements for delivery of precast segments to 55 different nation-wide locations using low bed trailers fixed with steel A-Frames and 40 feet trailers.

• In addition, monitored and reported the installation time for each 5-storey building, that at Project early stage the period taken was 150 days and later on improved to 40-day period of installations. 3) Commercial Manager for the End stage project delivery of 250 kilometres of electrified double track railway in Central Peninsular Malaysia for United Engineers Malaysia, (USD$ 170 Million)
