My major responsibilities as a chemist include

Analytical support provided for ADCOP project during the commissioning and startup of their laboratory by doing the following analysis.

Environmental analytical support for Fujairah municipality / EPA UAE regulations.

Crude Oil Testing:

Testing of crudeoil shipment samples for density by hydrometer .

RVP by ASTM D323

Salt content by IP 77 and ASTM D3230

Hydrogen sulphide testing by ASTM D3227 and by titration method using silver nitrate and potassium thoiocyanate.

Bs&W in crudeoil by ASTM D1796 and ASTM D2709

Chloride in crudeoil by UOP 779

Produce Water Samples:

Testing for PH,Conductivity,chloride,sulphate,Total dissolved solids,TSS,

Alkalinity,sodium,magnesium.iron

Coordinating with the clients or with the operations and technical departments for arranging sample collection, sampling, their testing requirements, sampling frequencies and reporting the results .

Entering the samples through LIMS

Develops and implements laboratory operations, HSE and quality control procedures

Conducting complicated sampling and their analysis with special care and attention

Reagents preparation and their standardization as per schedule.

Preparing CAPEX and OPEX budgets for the laboratory.

Chemical inventory and procuring chemicals and maintaining stock for the efficient functioning of lab activities.

Monitors budget variances.

Participating in commissiong of new equipment’s and their trouble shooting.

Interacting with vendors about their AMC and coordinating with them for the maintenance activities of lab equipment’s.

Giving training to subordinates and evaluating their performance.

Interacting with the production department about the deviation in process parameters and suggesting corrective action.

Aware of gas sampling procedures of high hydrogen sulphide content gas with PPE and breathing apparatus.

Issuing certificate of quality and lab reports to clients.

Participation in failure investigation and root cause analysis and corrective action.

Preparing for the quality managements system such as ISO:17025,ISO:14001,ISO:9001

Analysis of Fuel oils, Gas oils for API gravity, Density, Water content, Kinematic viscosity, Sulphur content, Acid & Base number, Sediment by extraction, Sediment by hot filtration, sediment and water by centrifuge, Vacuum and atmospheric distillation, Copper corrosion, Ash content, Carbon residue, Aniline point, Cetane index,Metals by atomic absorption spectrometer & ICP, Flash point,Pour Point, Cloud Point,CFPP, Hydrogen Sulphide in liquid phase and by titration method,Salt content by PETROTEST apparatus,RVP, Bs&W
