PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES IN PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE:

1)During my 3 years tenure as MD Paediatrics trainee at MOSC MEDIAL COLLEGE, KERALA, I have completed 6 months of Neonatal intensive care unit and 6 months of paediatric intensive care unit postings which included rigorous training in managing various neonatal and paediatric emergencies and sick child retrievals.

a. MOSC MEDICAL COLLEGE is a 1200bedded tertiary care teaching hospital and medical college with tertiary care referral NICU and PICU getting many referrals from neighbouring districts.

2)I Continued my training in pediatric emergency and neonatal intensive care for period of 8 months during my tenure as registrar at Rainbow Hospital for Women and Children, Marathalli Bangalore. During this time I was involved in Managing pediatric and neonatal emergencies, cardio-pulmonary resuscitations, emergency intubations and mechanical ventilation, placing central lines, performing exchange transfusions, Etc

a. Rainbow Hospital for Women and children, Marathahalli, Bangalore is tertiary care children’s hospital which has approximately 1000 admissions per year to its intensive care unit. The unit handles critically ill patients with all pediatric sub specialties

b.NICU attending normal delivery, preterm delivery- LR resuscitation, extreme preterm care, Mechanical ventilation, Inserting UAC, UVC, arterial lines, PICC line

3)I have joined as a fellow in paeditric intensive care - a 12 months cours called IDPCCM (Diploma in paediatric critical care medicine) awarded by college of paediatric critical care, India at Rainbow Hospital Children’s Hospital, Bannerghatta, Bangalore, India (01/01/2019 to be completed on 31/12/2019)

During my tenure as a Fellow in Pediatric Intensive care since 01st January 2019:

I have been involved in managing critically ill children coming to PICU with complex multi system involvement

Managing patient on HHHFNC/ Mechanical ventilators including HFOV, etc.

1)I have performed procedures independantly and under the guidance of my seniors that include endotracheal intubation / bone marrow aspiration and biopsy / central line insertions, Femoral lines, insertions external jugular catheter, USG guided, arterial line insertions, Lumbar puncture, chest tube insertions, pleural and peritoneal fluid drainage, routine intravenous cannulations

2)Basic ECHO/ FAST / USG guided procedures

I very well co-ordinate between other sub- specialties for comprehensive patient care.

I am actively involved in teaching of registrars and nursing staff of PICU and The emergency room.

Involved in various research activities that are taking place in our PICU

3)Trained in basic neurosonogram

SICK CHILDREN TRANSPORT EXPERIENCE

During my training, as a part of the transport team at Rainbow Children’s hospital for Women and Children, Bangalore which has highly active transport service with more than 150 Neonatal and pediatric Retrievals per year, I was involved in Transporting very sick and critically ill neonates and children by road.

Currently at Rainbow Hospital for Women and Children, Bangalore as a Fellow in paediatric Intensive care, I am involved in regular transport Rota for organizing and carrying out short and long distance transports coordinated between our referral hospitals and transport team of critically ill ventilated children, Via road

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN GENERAL PEDIATRICS

1)Worked as a junior Resident in Paediatrics at MOSC medical college, Kerala, India for 3 yrs (10.6.2015 to 30.05.2018)

General paediatric training: Apart from 6 months each of PICU and NICU postings, 24 months of posting in wards and general paediatric OPD managing various non critical cases on In -patient and out patient basis involving

Performing various ward procedures like bone marrow Biopsy, Lumbar puncture, pleural tap, ascitic tap, intravenous cannulations, PICC lines

Attending daily ward rounds, bedside and weekly case discussions and presentations along with maintaining data and follow up of specific patients

Vaccination in Children and adolescents

Attend labour and caesarean calls

Exposure to various paediatric sub-specialties like pediatric neurology, pediatric nephrology, developmental paediatrics, pediatric surgery, community pediatrics, infectious disease, This included attending grand rounds, managing indoor and outdoor patients under the supervision of concerned consultants.
