DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES AS STAFF NURSE
Renders direct nursing care to the sick patient as assigned by the head nurse.
Ensures comfort of the patient and educate them according to the need.
Maintains nurses record,treatment records,medicines,injections etc.
Maintain admission,discharge and death register.
Administers all the drugs according to protocol of the hospital.
Ensures sending of all laboratory specimens for investigations.
Renders pre and post operative care.
Take rounds with doctors and report the patients condition.
Assists doctors in carrying out treatments, procedures e.g. blood transfusion,bone marrow,lumbar puncture,ICD etc.
Care of antinatal,intranatal and postnatal clients.
Assisting durind delivery.
Care of newborn baby including eye care,cord care,cord blood collection,administration of vitamin k,oral and nasal suctioning etc.
Helps to solve the mental and emotional problems of patients.
Ensures proper sterilization and disinfection of the equipment according to the requirements.
Gives necessary health education to the patient along with explanation regarding follow up care recommendations on the discharge slip.
Maintains public relations with patients relatives and other departments.
Helps in orientation of the students teach them whwnever necessary.
Handled emergency situations as per policy with
dignity,competency and care while ensuring both physical and psychological needs of the patients.
