A Report on Market Mapping and Growth mapping of PEPSI in Central Bengal

Findings

My Project at PEPSI was divided into 2 parts:

Phase 1: In the 1st phase of the project I had to conduct an EDS (every dealer survey) where I was allotted specific areas of distribution under a distributor and I had to visit all retail outlets and gather data about each outlet.

Phase 2: In the 2nd phase of the project I had to calculate the chilling index of the area and also calculate the ROI (Return on Investment) of distributors.

Total Retail outlets surveyed: 800

Pepsi exclusive outlets: 115

Coke exclusive outlets: 75

Outlets with both Pepsi and Coke: 610

ROI of distributor of Pepsi : 14%

Key Learning

I developed a comprehensive view of the marketing strategies employed by Pepsi. I inculcated the qualities of a good marketing professional, i.e., communication skills, presentation skills, decision making skills, observation power and customer handling skills. I could evaluate my potential in a real business scenario

Marketing Strategies of Amul: I visited several retail outlets to find out their marketing strategies. We also visited several distributors to find out the edge of the marketing strategies of Amul over its competitors.

Project on Leadership: I analyzed the leadership qualities of a project leader of Skytech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. We interviewed him and found out his leadership qualities. We defined his leadership traits and identified to what category of leader he belonged.

Project on NPD: I developed a new product in the category of chocolates. We decided on the product features and developed the marketing strategies for launching the chocolate in the market.

Project on image of consumers of RPG’s Spencers: I visited Spencer’s retail outlets, talked with different people to know their views on Spenser’s. This project involved studying the different types of people visiting Spencer’s.

Poject on financial analysis of reliance industries: I had evaluated the financial performance and financial positions of Reliance Industries. We did the peer group comparison of the five industries under RIL. Moreover we did the SWOT analysis of the company in the present market scenario.
