Public Information Officer, media relations, multi-media promotions and project management. Served as lead PIO for Division of Children and Family Services and Division of Developmental Disabilities within the largest agency in Nebraska state government. Served as Emergency Management Deputy Director and PIO for Yankton County, South Dakota. Served as PIO on the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management statewide Incident Management Assistance Team. Trained PIOs as a contract FEMA instructor. Owned and operated a construction company in Yankton, SD. Selected Achievements:
Led communication team as part of a multi-faceted effort to transition child welfare contractor under a $196 million contract, including developing an initial communication plan and creating strategic messaging for media, stakeholder and public relations.
Collaborated with agency executive leadership to develop strategic messaging for highly confidential RFP result announcement, including planning for risk messaging in contingency scenarios and developing and executing a press conference event.
Developed and executed communication plan to support early SNAP issuance to 11,000 clients, including developing products for client outreach and internal and external communications. Worked with governor’s office providing updates on a rapidly changing landscape and managed extensive media interest in the story. Developed media releases, talking points, data sheets and social media products, including graphics and videos.
Contribute daily and weekly content, including stories, photos and videos, to DHHS social media platforms and to the intra-agency website and newsletter. Created information and graphics for monthly awareness campaigns, ongoing promotional efforts and special events.

Developed and executed H1N1 immunization communication plan as part of the South Dakota Department of Health Point of Distribution (POD) regional command staff. Served as PIO for Yankton Police Department in development and execution of ready response plan for international archery tournament. Supported multiagency plan for emergency response during week-long event.
