Manufacturing Supervisor 2007-2017
Managed a team of operators within the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients unit following the bargaining union contract as well as official company policies. Participated in FDA, OSHA and DHS audits of the department. Collaborated with the Supply Chain, Quality Control and Quality Assurance groups to establish schedule benchmarks and ensure clients’ needs were met. Reviewed batch records during and after production and addressed quality issues. Observed and enforced use of PPE, safety protocols, and company standard operating procedures while blending, distilling, filtering, drying and milling product to meet customer’s schedule and specifications.
Key Accomplishments:
Regularly evaluated, revised, and drafted department standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records ensuring GMP compliance.
Overhauled the company’s hazardous materials containment methods. Investigated and implemented the use of disposable enclosures, resolving the difficulties of maintaining a clean room environment and the use of restrictive protection suits. Collaborated with the vendor to design containment units to fit existing equipment and made revisions as needed to improve ergonomics.
Established and maintained the training program for all Manufacturing personnel on site.
Worked with multiple departments to scale up several projects from experimental batches to production quantity.
Performed CAPA investigations and implemented Corrective Actions for multiple departments, reducing a three-year backlog.
Spearheaded the calibration program for all Manufacturing units, ensuring equipment calibrations were up to date, scheduled outside vendor visits, maintained records, and completed investigations into out of tolerance results.
