( A ). Post Contract.
Commercial Management.
• Manage, coordinate and monitor the activities of quantity surveyors within the team and with contractors;
• Review the contractor’s / and Sub contractor’s interim payments for the completed work and prepare the payment certificates (advance payment, interim payments and final account payment) as per the contract requirements;
• Measure progress of work on site and prepare measurement book/joint measurement sheet signed by concerned parties (based on CESMM)
• Daily monitoring of contractor progress including materials delivered, materials installed, materials dredged, labour resources employed, equipment resources utilized and other statistical management;
• Evaluation of variations/claims from the contractors and make appropriate recommendations to employer/management for approval, if the contractor entitled otherwise reject the claim/variation;
• Review the tender/quotation/offer submitted by the contractor for the new scope of work and advises the client for decision making;
• Evaluation and recommendation of new rates submitted by the contractor for the client’s approval;
• Evaluation of EOT and, cost for the extended period of the contract;
• BOQ rationalization based on revised scope of work/master plan;
• Maintain risk register and relevant supporting files related to the commercial matters;
• Preparation of financial statements, final cost forecast/project end cost, cash flow, budgeting and cost control;
• Manage sub-contractor’s costs and invoicing;

This project has following main activities,
• 30 km of Road network, Including Roundabout,4 Nos, Surface drainage, Culverts, road lightning, traffic signals, and all other ancillary works

• Providing road network, with all other infrastructure facilities, including water supply networks, sewerage system, and construction of access road connecting with major roads in the vicinity of Taqa, Salalah,Dhofar sultanate of Oman.
• The measured length of for the road network along with infrastructure facilities (Main Water supply network) 60 km and its running in various local villages connected with all facilities. The construction activities were done in accordance with Oman Standard Specification, Highway Design Manual

Scope of work
Bulk Water supply line network was constructed to provide treated water to new Murree town ship. The major activities were as under,

• Providing and laying of 27 km long Main water supply line from Treatment plant to water storage reservoirs in new Murree.

Period of Assignment : March, 2003 to-Nov 2005 ( 3 years ) Pakistan Motorway Contractors, a joint ventures Pakistani construction companies, for the Construction of ( M-1 ) Islamabad - Peshawar Motorway ( 156 km ) . it was huge project completed with a Cost of $ 500 Million. The Project include following mega structures, Grade separated Interchange. 5 Nos
Bridge on River Indus and River Kabul . ( Length of bridges 970 meter and 660 meter respectively.) Flyovers and crossings. 7 Nos
Scope of work
It is 6 Lane Motorway with 10.5-meter-wideraised median. The Motorway have 2 Big Bridges Constructed on River Indus and River kabul, more than 300 Box culverts, lot of cattle creeps, under passes, Small bridges / Flyovers on Railway Crossings, Flyovers to connect the neighboring area over the Motorway, pedestrian steel bridges, and 6Nos Grade Separated Interchange, are also constructed. High filled Embankment was completed with``17 Million M3 borrow and 1.4 million M3 material brought from roadway excavation. 18 cm Asphaltic Base Course layer laid in 2 layers (9 cm each layer) and 5 cm wearing course to reach 23cm Asphaltic thickness. Responsibilities
I was the part of very experienced professional’s team, headed by General Manager Technical. My most important duty was that, i have to prepare monthly invoice, get verified from resident consultant, and Client NHA. (National Highway authority, beside this, i have to prepare Escalation claims, variation orders, weekly / monthly progress reports, preparation of work schedules, by using primavera, and calculation / computation of huge earth work by using Eagle Point Road calc software as well. I have sporting staff, like sectional Q.S, Auto Cad operators, for shop drawings and some field quantity inspectors.

I was the senior member of their professional team, which was working for the designing and Super vision of ``Islamabad – Murree Expressway, a National Highway Authority Project. I am directly reporting to Chief Resident Engineer
In the 4 years of period, as Senior Quantity Engineer/ Assistant Resident Engineer,i have learned a rich experience working for the project, which is mostly going through high rise mountains, This was the most important project of my entire professional carrier for which i worked a lot, form starting of design, up to completion, including evaluation, rate analysis, project cost, PC-1 preparation of tender, bidding document, and was also involved in the execution and supervision of the project.
