BACKGROUND & AIM
During my career, I have acquired extensive experience in the academic and pharmaceutical fields along with the research field. During the PhD and postdoctoral studies, I developed a progressively responsible teaching experience by starting a teaching Diploma and by monitoring MS and PhD students’ theses as well as by teaching them various courses (biology, immunology, physiology).
Also, I have worked for more than 3 years as a project manager in the pharmaceutical company “Intestinal Biotech development” which is a research service provider facility where I was responsible for managing research projects starting from setting up the research protocol and timetable, the experimental protocol, conducting the studies, analysing the data and reporting to international companies.
My research experience was centered on Physiology and Immunology and branched out to several axes. It started with the effect of immunomodulators (currently in clinical trials for AIDS) on mitochondrial respiration. Then, I switched during my PhD to several subjects ranging from intestinal inflammation and cancer to liver proliferation and skin healing. Later, my postdoctoral studies were focused on understanding the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis. Thus, my research experience expanded to the physiology of several organs and understanding the pathophysiology of a diversity of diseases. As a whole, I am confident that I have the academic background and curriculum development skills that will allow me to excel in the academic field as well as in the scientific management area.
