My Story: I have worked in a variety of environments over the past 37 years of my professional career. I started in Academia developing custom applications for Educational, and Social Research and Survey Analysis. Then worked in the Health field supporting Health Research and developing custom applications for data entry and analysis at a Hospital. I then took a position consulting in an Electric Company where I started as a developer and ended up supporting the company’s ERP. I developed custom applications with paradox, Power Builder, and Access. I also developed interfaces for their Human Resources Benefits and Pay Roll system. I developed an interface for their timekeeping and ADP pay roll system using Excel VBA. I then assisted in the conversion and installation of Lawson, developed custom screens and reports, and then supported Lawson Human Resources Benefits and Pay Roll system by developing interfaces to the Benefit Vendors, and their Pension Administrator. I then converted their pension system to their Vendor Vanguard, and wrote all of the interfaces to the vendor, and supported the data transfer process to the vendor. I was then laid off by the consultant, and worked supporting Lawson in Academia. The Electric company then hired me as an employee, and I worked for another 6 years when the company laid me off again due to restructuring. I then relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth area to be with family. I gained employment with Children’s Medical Center of Dallas where I have been supporting Lawson Human Resources Benefits, Talent Management and Pay Roll. I would look forward to supporting a system other than Lawson, or moving to a different environment completely. I would love to get back into development where the majority of my career has been.
