Experience

Adopt4Life—Designer, Marketing & Communications Lead (‘16–Present) As resident creative and digital specialist, in my first year as a designer I managed our brand and visual identity, and online media presence to produce campaigns focused on reaching our audiences via contemporary communications methods. For the next 2 years, I lead a team of content creators and interns in a hybrid project manager-designer role to implement fresh digital marketing strategies including blog and video campaigns, live webinars to engage our community, and infographic content from studies by our associate organizations in order to spread awareness of alternative families and to help connect them across Canada to services and resources, and to advocate for benefits. I helped to separate our organization from the traditional NPO culture in North America by treating it like a tech start-up, while staying consistent with our brand’s mission and values. Existere: Journal of Arts & Literature—Publications Designer (‘16–’18, Toronto) Working to guide a team of editors, writers, and artists toward a bi-annual in-store release, I directed and designed the publication of arts, literature and culture. My role required oversight of all creative decisions, layout, and curatorial aspects to deliver content to thousands of readers nation-wide. With the inevitable rise of digital literature, I also suggested and lead the migration of the complete print production to an entirely digital platform for the organization, which now exclusively sells on Kobo. UltraSuperNew K. K., Shibuya—Creative Intern (‘17, Tokyo, contract, paid internship) In this multi-faceted role with the design agency, I worked with an international and local team of creatives, video producers, strategists, researchers, and account managers on a diverse body of clients within the Eastern Pacific region to localize power house brands like Beats, Paypal, Paprika, Heineken, and more in Singapore and Japan. From writing scripts to storyboarding, to assisting art direction on photo shoots, researching and designing for clients to RFPs and presentations, my main role was producing videos and creating visual assets across multimedia platforms in support of brand strategies involving activation and social media take-overs. Art Gallery of Ontario—Design Studio Intern (‘17, Toronto) In this role I assisted in the 2D design, visualization and production of spaces in conjunction with the 3D design team and curatorial department for exhibitions of artists such as Ai Wei Wei, Kusama, and Guillermo del Toro. My personal project was solving problems by editing the daily experiences of our patrons in our historical venues and cultural spaces; a few solutions I invented greatly improved the experiences of thousands of members of the gallery by improving the design and visibility of way finding and signage, and creating child-friendly sized installations for our smaller patrons. Art Gallery of Mississauga—Art Installation Specialist (‘13–’18, Mississauga) My small team of exhibition specialists collaborated with guest artists and curators. As an expert in designing visually stunning exhibitions, my work visualized bodies of work that tackled the hard questions for art focused on culture and social issues focused around immigration, globalization in North America, using illusory digital methods of staging and production design. CPIN Project, Ministry of Children and Youth—User Experience Designer (‘13-‘15, North York) On the case management team, I supported the streamlining 49 databases of child protection agencies in the province of Ontario, through our commissioned digital application and generated training videos and materials for all social service staff in that industry. Daily, I researched to create authentic user-scenarios for user testing, finding insights to improve the desktop app by focusing on the user experience throughout development. In addition, I designed all major dynamic forms for the program, using Adobe LiveCycle.

P&D Inc.—Graphic Designer (2012–2013, Oakville, contract) In addition to my role to visually design and prototype materials for a multitude of large North American brands, I redesigned our client docket for the company, and problem-solved in house inefficiencies that our creative team had in the daily workflow by creating templates for designers and Adobe cheat files that the creative team was able to use to increase productivity in their workflows.
