Improving School District’s Budgeting Decisions Jan 2020 Domain: Data Science / Machine Learning

Automation of labelling line items in a school budget to reduce time spent each year by budget analysts in manual labelling of line items and to improve budget decisions.

Various NLP techniques with different tokenization patterns and n-grams were utilized for pre- processing text features.

Different classification models including Logistic Regression, KNN, and Random forest were tested to improve accuracy.

Further, Hashing was implemented to improve computational efficiency. Stanford Open Policing Project -Analysing Impact of Gender on Police Behaviour Dec 2019 Domain: Data Science

The Stanford Open Policing Project dataset was used to analyse the impact of gender on police behaviour in traffic related incidents for the state of Rhode Island, USA.

Handling messy data, creating visualizations, combining and reshaping datasets and manipulating time series data was performed with Pandas.

Comparing violations by gender, comparing drug and search rates, impact of time of day on arrest rate and plotting violations by district are some relationships that helped provide insightful conclusions on police behaviour.

Image Classification Using Deep Learning Jan 2018

Domain: Machine Learning

Developed an object detection system that can Identify the object in an image and classify the image into its category (E.g. Car, Dog) using Convolutional Neural Networks.

Further extended its functionality to detect and identify multiple objects in an image.

Researched on various implementation techniques using algorithms including stochastic gradient descent, Regions-CNN and Fast Regions–CNN to minimize the operational cost incurred and effectively integrate with SVM Classification and Regression Modelling. PAPER PRESENATION

Title: Survey of Machine Learning Methods for Big Data Application April 2018 BNM Institute of Technology

Presented a paper on Big Data features, its applications in various fields including finance, entertainment and health care. The challenges related to each application were also discoursed.
