I’m a creative and forward-thinking individual who constantly strives to improve my own ability. I thrive in fast pace environments and enjoy working within a team. After achieving a distinction within Global Public Health Nutrition MSc, I currently freelance within a digital agency whilst writing articles for health and lifestyle publications. Masters at the University of Westminster (2018 – August 2019): Distinction: MSc in Global Public Health Nutrition

-AfN Registered Associate Nutritionist

-Thesis focus: Designing evidence-based nutritional guidelines and advice to improve quality of life and survival outcomes following colorectal cancer surgery. Currently in the process of writing this into a journal to be published.

-Concepts & principles of nutrition science - knowledge of food composition, impact of diet on population and individual health.

-Epidemiology of obesity on morbidity and mortality, with diet related chronic disease.

-Anthropometric & nutritional assessment procedures.

-Dietary intake assessment, marco and mirco nutrient dietary analysis.

Freelance Content Writer (May 2018 – Present)

-BeKind: Feb issue, ‘Health on Your Plate’ and another on Food Ethics due in April’s issue.

-Stock management, banking, management of 17 staff members, rota and team meetings on business development and opportunities whilst completing my MSc.

MEC: Biddable Manager (October 2016 – January 2018)

-Responsible for day to day running of both social and paid search for prestigious Government accounts (TfL, Mayor of London, Recycle for London) as well as the planning, activation and optimisation for all sale activity for NEXT.

-Developing new strategies and ideas for biddable clients through work with key vendors and heads of department

-Managing a team of 3 people; 3 execs and a rotation of graduates within the team. My focus was on developing their social and paid search skills, teaching and supporting their professional and personal goals through objective setting, tutoring and encouragement

-First port of call for communication and relationship building across internal departments for Pinterest.

-Tasked with managing external relationships with a proven track record in maintaining successful relationships with notoriously difficult clients. Duties ranged from creating and communicating account performance forecasts to competitor analysis.

MEC: Affiliate Account Assistant, Exec to Manager (June 2014 – September 2016)

-Solely responsible for the planning of Affiliate activity for two large accounts (EE and Nintendo), hosting regular client presentations, planning and negotiating the execution strategies of placement.

Other responsibilities and achievements at MEC

-Rising Talent: Selected through an application and interview process to be part of the ‘Rising Talent’ group, a group of 18 managers chosen to attend bespoke training and participate in innovative projects to fast track to higher management positions and increased responsibility.

-Pinterest “Pinsiders”: Handpicked as one of two Pinterest reps for MEC, expected to keep on the pulse of all things Pinterest and provide insights into how MEC can harness new developments. This included an invitation to Pinterest HQ in San Francisco to attend a week-long training and networking event.

-My Perks Team: An organiser within the MyPerks Team since joining MEC, arranging activities and benefits for the company.

-Focus Groups: Volunteered to join focus groups and ideas sessions for both creative briefs and pitches.

-Department ‘Sprints’: helping to develop best practice and efficiencies across the department and within client teams.

-The 3 peaks challenge: Raised money for MIND by climbing the UKs three tallest peaks in under 24 hours.

RRC International: International Development Assistant, Wimbledon (July 2012 – July 2013) 48-week placement as part of my Sandwich Degree Course

-Completed and exceeded my projects to boost Worldwide Exam Centres, selected as part of the team sent to Dubai to set up, run and excel at the busiest Expo’s of the year.

Health and Fitness:

-Instagram accounts @fromroottoleaf @amsfinch. Passion for communicating health messaging, helping people to understand nutritional information and help create meal ideas.

-Twitter: @fromroottoleaf1 and to help spread evidence-based news and insights.

-I’ve always had interest in team sports, playing netball for MEC, Sports Vice Capitan throughout school, organising and part of the squad tour to Tobago, competing against local teams. I gym regularly and enjoy the personal challenge, attending spin regularly.

-Triathlete, training for a sprint triathlon in August 2019. I love running and cycling, having recently competed the London to Brighton cycle and a half marathon.

-I love animals, food, traveling, and post-it notes – who doesn’t love a list!

Charity Work:

-Organised and participated in numerous fundraisers, in events such as The Three Peaks (completed in under 24 hours!) raising funds for Cancer Research, BHF, Macmillan and MIND. Next is the Blenheim Palace triathlon and climbing Kilimanjaro in Feb 2021.

Art:

-I completed an art foundation in my gap year and still try to find time to help the artists and clothes makers in my family with their creative pursuits.
