Current Employment:

PBX Operator Little America Hotel SLC – April 2017 to Present

Duties: Customer Service including answering and placing telephone calls from both inside and outside the hotel. I handled calls for both Little America and Grand America. Together there are around 2000 rooms. Close attention to detail is required. We are trained to answer phones with Forbes standards for 5 star hotels so there is much attention to proper telephone etiquette. I was trained on a Cisco multiline computerized switchboard and specialized hotel software including: Opera, Alice and Novotek.

Recent Former Employment:

Recovery Assistant House of Hope Utah – November 2010 to July 2019

House of Hope is a residential recovery program. I worked in the houses directly with clients. Duties included monitoring clients for problems, helping clients resolve issues, helping with morning meds, meds inventory counting, light housekeeping, house security and preparing and delivering staff notes as well as transporting clients.

Night Auditor at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Midvale – April 2013 to April 2017

I served as the night manager there as I was the only employee on site at the hours I worked. As the Night Auditor, I performed light accounting duties which included printing and balancing daily worksheets with revenues and other data as well as closing the business day accounting. I voluntarily created some training itineraries to help provide for new employees. Other duties included greeting and checking in guests, making hotel reservations, answering calls from both inside and outside of the hotel, delivering supplies to rooms, responding to emergencies and disturbances and helping to set up the morning breakfast buffet. Hilton hotels use a computerized training system which provides for both onboarding and ongoing training. I was also trained on the specialized software for all the Hilton Hotels.

Other Employment:

I spent 7 years as a high school math and biology teacher for Davis School District. After leaving teaching, I operated a tutoring business called “Home Tutoring” which provided tutoring in many subjects for all school aged kids. I personally tutored mostly math at all levels and occasionally biology and other sciences. Other tutors were hired to teach their specialty subjects.
