Accountable for 85-acre Data Center Campus in Chandler, Arizona. Composed of nearly 2 million square-feet data center- largest of its kind. Constructed powered shells to provide fast time to market option for IT environments. Fully redundant support systems, scalable power levels, connectivity options, and class A office space. Full and Half Data Halls with 30,000 to 60,000+ Square feet of Colocation Space. Oversaw the unique infrastructure requirements to ensure IT environment where equipped with the right power, cooling, and connectivity to match various application needs. Managed the following:

SOC 1 type 2 and SOC 2 type 2, PCI DSS (sec 9 & 12), HIPAA, ISO 27001, FISMA

Facilities built to TIA 942 Class 4 specifications.

Data Center Manager

Responsible for high density computing of CyrusOne’s 112,000 square foot Houston data center that is equipped with fully redundant power architecture to ensure the availability of mission critical server environments. 112,000 sq. ft. data center / 64,000 Colocation square feet (CSF). SSAE 16 (SOC I type II), PCI DSS (sec 9 & 12), HIPAA, ISO 27001, FISMA. High Performance Computing (HPC) capable supports 250 WPSF with the ability to support over 1,000 WPSF. 100% uptime service level agreement on power. 24 7 staffed NOCC and remote hands support.

Energy Conservation / PUE Reduction:

oReduced PUE by .60 while decrease of kW IT load under the constraints of 6 Major Customer’s losses. .

oIncreased chiller efficiency went from 7 online chillers to 3 while maintaining critical load.

oReduced water consumption from 96K gallons monthly to 3K gallons.

oMaintain facility PUE of 2.0 by design while two and a half data halls remain unoccupied.

Managed the change out of an active UPS with ZERO customer impact after catastrophic failure:

oEngineered design of change out with no corporate assistance.

oCalculated all loads for shift over and all commissioning documentation.

Governed the cataclysmic failure of the facility’s underground utility:

oZero customer impact on 2N customers.

oReplaced 3600 feet of 500MCM underground utility wire from the transformer to the service disconnect.

Provided senior-level work and streamlined operations by eliminating redundancy and delivering 3x the projected work. Supervised 178 staff in two (2) departments.

project: Hurricane IKE

Achieved / surpassed the strategic plan to redesign buildings that had sustained wind and water damage. Within 8 hours all but one of the seven buildings were back online with the humidification process started (to keep from further damage).

One building in Galveston, TX was severely damaged – therefore led the restructuring and cleanup of over 3 million gallons of water – all mechanical systems were restored within one month after the major natural disaster.

project: Quality Assurance Program

Managed development and execution of overall mechanical and physical conditions in a 2 million sq. ft. occupied space from program development, tracking costs, and cost analysis and verification procedures.

Worked around a $3.7M operating budget that eventually reduced all operating capital of $297,000 in 2009.

project: Federal Government Mandate

Reduced the energy costs as charged by a federal mandate for 8 federal buildings of the total nine – that had a 12-year goal / deadline to reduce fuel rates by 2003 baseline consumption.

Initiated the Energy Management System (EMS) and continued to strive to reduce costs, daily – was then recognized by the Environmental Protection Administration who presented two Energy Efficiency Bronze Stars, as the representative for completed buildings.

CONSOLIDATED ENGINEERING SERVICES Glen Burnie, MD Apr. 2005 – Feb. 2007

Project Manager BWI and Martin State Airports

Directed and supervised all HVAC / construction projects at the State’s largest Centralized Utility Plan at two airports working within 6.6 million sq. ft of occupied space in 128 buildings on 4,000 acres of property. As the project manager, improved customer service, developed interface to automatically communicate with other members in the building, and oversaw all service management applications. Supervised a staff of 160.

Took charge to find solutions to improve the 24/7 operations of HVAC services at one of the states largest Centralized Utility Plant that produced 425,000 MBTU/H of heating and 48,000 tons of chilled water cooling along with 16,000 tons of Thermodynamic Ice Storage – in a facility that was capable of moving 24,000 gallons of chilled water at eight feet per second at 125 PSI.

Looked into improving the performance of maintenance procedures and initiated 200,000 preventive and corrective maintenance procedures – working within a $250M operating budget over 6.6 million sq. ft. – resulted in the facilitation of multiple construction projects ranging in excess of $1.6B.

Implemented International Certification Services ISO 9001-2000 Standards to meet all industrial requirements for doing business within a $3B / year organization.

Took over all snow removal at two separate airports concurrently – working within $1M procured contract for the State of Maryland. Managed staff and over 100 contracted companies to provide snow removal using Ice melting equipment, 200 triaxial snowplows, sweepers, salters, backhoes, bull dozers, bobcats – all for ramps and runway snow removal.

SIMMONS MATTRESS COMPANY Piscataway, NJ June 2000 – Dec. 2005

Facility Manager / Maintenance Manager / Assistant Production Manager / Quality Assurance Manager

Held full authority to oversee management and manufacturing process, including full P&L, procurement of plant engineering equipment, manufacturing engineering devices, raw materials, and finished goods within a 4 million sq. ft. facility. Oversaw 120 – 150 personnel in seven (7) departments.

Led the organization, re-training of staff and safety procedures reducing OSHA recordable rate 77.789%; reducing workman’s compensation by 75%; receiving zero deficiencies on two EPA inspections. With low production rates at facility compared to 16 factories in U.S., as Assistant Production Manager found a new approach using a revised TQL by hiring Larry Wilson Consulting to develop a ‘Success” strategy. Managed multiple union workforces and negotiated labor contracts with International Aerospace Engineers & U.S. Steelworkers.

Implemented the new Total Quality Leadership approach across the entire factory – resulting in increased production rates by 32%; reduced mechanical failures by 40%; reduced warranty returns by 95%; reduced waste by 75% - with net savings of $3.2M, annually.
