March 7, 2013 to Present Private Duty Nurse at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, Jeddah, KSA
Job Description:
I provide private nurse care and services to Madame Khadijah Abdulqadir Fakeeh and to her husband Mr. Abbas Hussein Maatouq, which are both older adults or geriatric patients. Working with these patients everyday has been a challenge for me. As their private duty nurse, I understand and treat their often complex health needs as I help them protect their health and cope with the changes in their physical and mental abilities. I perform a lot of medication management, especially assessing for side effects or toxicity related to slower metabolism. Their safety is also a big concern for me. I make sure that their weakness and dizziness do not cause them to trip or fall. Depression is another issue with these patients. I have to be a good listener. I always make my presence felt so they will feel better.
May 16, 2011 to May 15, 2012 Registered Nurse - OB Department at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, Dumaguete City, Philippines
Job Description:
This 250-bed capacity Tertiary Hospital has helped me in practicing my profession by enhancing and broadening my skills, and developing my attitude towards providing nursing care services. As an OB nurse, I took care of women, mothers, and newborns. Each day of duty has helped me a lot in applying what I have learned from my Nursing School. I also recorded patient’s symptoms, updated records, operated medical equipment, helped with diagnostic tests, administered medications and treatment, and followed up visits when necessary.
June 1991 to March 2003 Nurse Assistant / Caregiver to Sheikh Hamad Saleh AlHamoudi, Riyadh, KSA
Job Description:
Aside from Sheikh Hamad, I also worked as a nurse assistant and caregiver to his wives for 12 years. Sheikh Hamad was a Post-CABS patient. I helped handle his medications, recorded assessments and side effects of his medications. I also had the opportunity to travel with his wives everytime they had to visit their doctors for consultation in USA and Europe. I communicated with their doctors, took care of their medications, safety, and even their personal needs. When my patients were discharged from the hospital, I took care of their medications, diet, and exercise. On our free time, I brought them to parks and acted as interpreter to help them communicate with the locals since they only speak Arabic. For more than 11 years with the Hamoudi Family, I learned to speak and read the Arabic language. I also taught basic English to my employer’s children and grandchildren.
