I am applying for a Die Maker position. I am a Journeyman Die Maker. I received my UAW Journeyman's card at General Motors. I spent most of my time as a die maker running a press line attending to all tooling, electrical, die and press issues. I also have some management experience.

SKILLS

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, SAP and QuickBooks software

•Implemented Lean Six Sigma at General Motors and Hewlett-Packard

•Journeyman Die Maker with experience in various positions in the automotive industry

•Experience using most hand tools

•Experience with machinery from large CNC machines to small manual lathes & boring mills

TOOL & DIE EXPERIENCE

•Set up, program and run large boring mills

•Working with tolerances sometimes of .005 or less

•Use of small machines: lathes, mills, bridgeports, drill presses (stationary and radial arm)

•Use all types of grinders (ID, OD, surface, pedestal, profile, disk and hand)

•Knowledge of correct feeds and speed for machining different types of metal

•Knowledge of preparation for heat treatment

•Use of hand tools (electric, pneumatic and manual)

•Use of fine measuring tools

•Read and interpret blue prints

•Build dies from blue prints

•Fabricating and attaching scrap chutes

•Attaching and adjusting mechanical or electrical devices required, e.g. ejector pins or gages
