RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain the safety policies and programs for the company, implement and maintain a culture of innovation to maintain the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to prevent any type of incident and or accident. Articulate Site-Specific Safety Plans and Procedures for various operations (Confined Space Entry, Excavation/Shoring-Trenching, Critical Lifts, Steel Erection, Emergency Action Plan, etc.)
Perform safety and health inspections, identify issues and assess inefficiencies in construction safety methods. Provide corrective actions/recommendations to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
Conduct investigations in the event of any accident, near miss or dangerous occurrence. Report incidents in a time sensitive fashion, delivering root cause reviews, handling workers compensation, the promotion of an Early Return to Work policy for applicable candidates, and employee education/discipline as required. Limit exposure, citations and penalties.
Engage in case management for injuries/illnesses for effective and efficient employer care, while controlling costs and minimizing lost employee time or other negative statistical results. Conduct all medical surveillance. File Workers Compensation Injury Reports (as needed) Coordinate and monitor injured employee medical care. Develop and maintain relations with urgent care centers, physicians, ambulance service, fire departments and hospitals for each project site.
