CMAFS Electronic Technician/Cable Maintenance Technician, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Colorado Springs, CO.

Install and maintain underground, buried, and aerial copper core and fiber-optic cables supporting systems for command, control, communications, and computers.

Plan, maintain and install all cable and communication conveyance systems.

Installation experience includes schematics, drawings, cable tray installation, grounding grids, various cable fabrications, i.e.…CAT-5, coax, twinax, fiber optic and various types of RF cables.

Utilizes hand tools such as hammer drills, skill saw, worm saw, basic carpentry type tools.

Worked on the obsolescence install for the AFSCN upgrades.

Project Manager for Vindicator IDS system installation, test and commissioning for the Qatari Air force base located in Doha.

Cable assembly installation and fabrication (multi-conductor, coaxial, CAT5/6 and Fiber Optic).

Performed extensive duties as Intrusion Detection Systems network technician for both hardware and software elements of the network.

Drove and supported Intrusion Detection Systems network design and integration to technical completion.

Alamon Telco / QWEST Communications - Cable Equipment Technician (Contractor) (2006-2007)

Reviewed, interpreted engineering specifications, floor plan layouts, blueprints, wiring schematics, and drawing specifications to determine tasks to be done.

Erected, assembled, and aligned iron work to fashion equipment racks, bays, and cabling frames. Mounted equipment into these bays and frames.

Ran, secured and prepared cable in the central office, i.e., coaxial, fiber optics, switchboard, power and other intra-office cabling.

Performed wiring tasks on circuit arrangements and modifications by analyzing drawings, changed sheets, wiring lists and equipment specifications.

Accurately tested, troubleshoot, and cleared trouble on complex combinations of circuits in various combinations of frames of active equipment (Systems testing) using installation test methods and test equipment, i.e., oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency selective meters, etc.

Telwest Communications - Senior Installations Technician (Contract) (2005-2006)

Installed Cat 6 E, Fiber, and Coaxial cables for Pueblo County school districts.

Performed routine tasks required for the installation, troubleshoot, and testing of all elements of voice, video, and data systems ATMs, security cameras, and television monitors with various businesses in Pueblo and Colorado Springs areas.

Responsibilities included following installation plan guidelines, installation of communication equipment in racks and system furniture, installing pathways, and cabling, terminating SC, ST, fiber optic cable and CAT 6 E copper cable, and performing all tasks necessary for the installation of new communication systems.

Performed fiber and Cat 6 E cable testing, and assist the engineering staff with integrated systems testing to 568A standards.

ITT Systems - Systems Implementation Specialist (2002-2005)

Traveled the United States and abroad leading a team that provides technical support to engineering, manufacturing, systems test, problem reporting/resolution, operations, maintenance and installation of satellite communications equipment.

Downloaded data from laptop, and commissioned optical subsystems, also decommissioned optical subsystems.

Installed, and used Universal SLAT to test T-1's, FT-1's, and OPC's with NOS, or NOC for signal flow with T-berd, or O-scope and maintained Optical, Data, DWDM and Wireless systems including Sonet Access nodes OC-12, 48 and 192, for DS0, 1 and 3 transmissions.

ITT Systems - Associate Engineer (1998 --2000)

Installed, terminated, maintained, tested using light source, optical meters, T-berd, and O-scope, OTDR equipment for Fiber, Data, phone, coaxial, and CAT3 and CAT5 cables for SIBRS, and C4I Network at Air Force Bases in Colorado, and across the U.S.

Installed and performed basic configuration of Cisco routers, Hubs, FDDI media access rings, T-1's, and NEC, Alcatel, and Lucent PBX Switches.

Installed switches, power cables, data cables, and wire wrapped cables for QWEST Communications.

Lockheed Martin - Wire/Cable Installation Technician, Contracted at Schriever AFB (1997 – 1998)

Installed, and fabricated fiber optic cable, coaxial, CAT3 and CAT5 cable.

Performed test and maintenance. Installed and fabricated 10 baseT and 100 baseT, single mode fiber, multimode fiber and coaxial cables for High speed Ethernet at the JNIC on Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado.
