Role & Resposibilities

Roles & Responsibilities as a Teradata DBA:

• Checking Blocks, CPU and Space Alert on Teradata Viewpoints.

• Checking Alert locks on BAR jobs – Arcmain utility.

• Managing CR, PM and IM through Service management process tools like SM7/Axis/DASH.

• Review and Approve DBA Tasks based on Standards of DBA Checklist.

• Provide requested information on Teradata to solution architect on Teradata system based on Request.

• Monitoring Teradata Space and Transfer space to Critical production databases.

• Implementing DBA Task as requested from dev/support through CM process.

• Monitoring Data movement from DBC to DBC_HIST (PDCR).

• Weekly Team Meeting. Discussion on Teradata, BAR related issue and steps to overcome it.

• Analyze majorly high CPU impacted queries and suggesting users on the best practice to be followed.

• Setup New place holder for DEV/SIT/UAT testing for all vendors

• Data cut for QA testing

• User Id deletion for audit those who left.

• Setting database backup on New/existing job for new prod DB creation (except work database)

• Production Logon creation

• Addressing Space request related to PLAYPEN.
