Clinical Duties as a School nurse

First aid in case of accidents and injuries that are happening at school.

Routine checkup vitals, escalation of the chest, palpation of the abdomen and inspection of the throat is done when a sick student is transported to the clinic from the classroom.

Informing the parents and administration in case of severe injuries that are needed immediate transportation to the hospital.

Health education is given to the students individually based on their demands & as a group during health week celebration eg: performing puppet shows for kids

Yearly routine general examination like checking height, weight, and vision.

Distribution of letters to parents in case of abnormal results found during a routine examination.

Sending yearly medical health update forms to the parents & updating in the school system for the teacher's knowledge.

Routine hygiene checkup class wise.

Obtaining consent form from parents for the vaccination and assisting the ministry of health staff in vaccination.

Referral of students to the class counselors in case of aggressive behavior.
