WORK HISTORY

INVENTORY CONTROL ANALYST/CLERK III 11/1996 to 11/2014

Thomas Built Buses - High Point, NC

Helped create and improve inventory control policies. Maintained an accurate inventory count of all buy parts and fabrication parts in AS400, for the company's Buyers, Planners, Supervisors and Managers.

Finding route causes and analyzing inventory inaccuracies in the system and correcting the problem.

Constant physical inventory counts in all Warehouses, Sub-Assembly areas and all of Fabrication areas and Production Lines in all Plants.

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, AS400, Oracle, Power Point, Rapid Response, Lotus Notes and some ASAP.

Managed the transportation of parts into and out of production facilities from one plant to another plant and from Warehouses to Fabrication, Sub-Assembly areas and to the Production Line, physically and systematically.

Training of new employees to perform the same work activities and duties.

Troubleshoot problems involving Bill Of Material errors, transfer errors in the system and transfer errors made physically.

Created identification tags for parts, showing the part number, the quantity in the bin, and the description of the part. Then placed tag on the bins and documented the information in AS400.

Counted, weighted and measured all parts in all Plants, Warehouses, Sub-Assembly areas, Production Lines and all Non-Conforming areas. Accurately documenting all this information to reflect in AS400 for all Management, Supervisors, Buyers/Planners/Expeditors and Team Leaders.

Computed product totals and charges for shipments received.

Constant lifting of parts that weighted from a few ounces to 75 lbs. each.

Verify all fabrication parts are made exactly to the Engineers' drawings and specifications. If they weren't, I would tag the part and transport the part to a Non-Conforming area physically and transfer the inventory of the part from the location the part was showing in the system to the Non-Conforming location. Then related all information to the necessary individuals involved in the fabrication of the part to correct the problem.

Document quantity, quality, type, weight, test result data, and value of materials or products, in order to maintain shipping, receiving and production records and files.

Unload or unpack incoming shipments from Vendors or from other Plants.

Compare product labels, tags, tickets, shipping manifests, purchase orders and bill of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents, quality specifications and or weights. Sort products or parts into predetermined sequences or groupings for display, packing, shipping or storage.

Instructed other team members to weigh or check parts in WIP prior to correcting the inventory count in the system.

Overstocked parts of finished products in labeled bins and recorded their location and inventory count in the system for Team Leaders, Clerks and Supervisors.

Remove from stock the parts or loads not meeting quality standards and notify Supervisors or appropriate departments of any discrepancies or shortages.

Examine parts or materials, sub-assemblies, and packaging for damage, defects, or shortages or overages using specification sheets or drawings, gauges, and standard charts.

Transport parts, materials, products or samples to processing, shipping or storage areas, manually or using conveyors, forklifts or hand trucks.

Worked diligently with Team Leaders, Supervisors and parts of Management to prevent a shut down of any of the Production Lines at all three Plants.

Worked with MIG (Materials Investigation Group) to correct any BOM (Bill Of Material) problems with parts not deleting the inventory count in AS400 whenever the part was put on a unit or Bus by Production.

Processing Inventory Tickets during the Company's Physical Inventory Period.

Worked with the Buyers and Vendors on any discrepancies regarding parts that were received in from the Vendors regarding: quantity errors, damaged parts or any quality issues or defects in the metal of the parts.

Created worksheets, charts and reports to provide Management, Supervisors, Engineers/MIG and Planners/Buyers with my analyst of all parts inventoried during the daily meetings and discussions that were held.

Attended all updated training sessions that the Company would offer to keep up on all new information concerning any new software that the Company would be changing to.

Assisted with EDS Programmers with the creation of programs that I needed, that would help in the analyzing of the parts and how they are used on the Production Line.

Keeping all information updated on all parts filed thru out the year.

Detail oriented and independently driven for the success of the Company.

Worked with Team members on parts that were stocked in different locations on the Production Line and that were put on in different areas of the Bus, and making sure that the inventory was being deleted out of those locations at the very time that the part was being put on the bus physically and systematically. Sometimes the same part may be used in different Plants and on different Production Lines in those Plants. For example: The Pushers, The Forward Control and the Minotour Buses were manufactured in Plant 1 and the Conventional Buses were manufactured and the C2 Plant, and some of the same parts were being used on these different units or buses, and the AS400 system needed to reflect that usage.

The physical demand of the job consisted of: Long distance of walking from one end of the plant to the other. Walking from one plant to another and driving to other plants that are farther away from the main plant that I worked at. Long periods of time stooping or bending down to inventory parts. Long periods of time on my knees on the concrete floors counting very thin sheets of metal (Headlining) or other parts. Climbing up and down ladders to count parts, stretching and reaching to count parts that were overstocked in very tight and inadequate locations. Physically carrying parts that weighted from a few pounds to 40 or 50 lbs. from the Warehouse to the Production Line to prevent a shut down of the line. The use of hand trucks and forklifts were sometimes not available when I needed them.

SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK/ORDER FILLER 03/1994 to 12/1996

Lowes Distribution Center 994 - Thomasville, NC

Received in and processed Packing Lists, Shipping Orders and Bills of Lading.

Verify the accuracy of all deliveries in from Vendors and all shipments that were sent out to the Company's stores.

Operation of forklifts, walkie riders and power jacks with the constant lifting of products weighting anywhere from 5 to 75 lbs. to fill the orders that where to be sent to area stores.

Loaded and unloaded large bulky items that were on pallets on and off trucks.

Transported large oversized items from the delivery trucks that were in the docking areas to areas out in the field.

Accuracy in pulling items for area stores; color, size, quantity and quality of the items all situated in large metal racks and then shrink wrapped to prevent any damage to the items and transported to the dock area for shipping.
