Responsible for up keeping the fire & life safety paraphernalia of the Mall in an ideal state at all time.

To carry out the risk assessment of the Mall facility altogether, identifying potential hazards, risk level & ensuring proper safety regime.

To conduct regular HSE & fire safety trainings for the Mall staff.

To ensure that workers are following all the safety norms; wearing suitable personal protective equipment.

To inspects the tenants’ outlets pertaining to fire & life safety & follow up accordingly.

To check the fire pumps monthly in coordination with the QCD approved engineer.

To check all the fire exit stairs for any obstruction, adequate lighting, signage & or any damage to the fire doors & the hardware.

To check the fire alarm system & its corresponding integration mechanism monthly.

Ensuring monthly inspection of all the portable first aid fire extinguishers & checking for any deterioration that may affect the operation of a fire extinguisher.

To carry out the quarterly testing & inspection of fire hydrants, hose boxes, first aid hose reels & fire brigade connections & make sure everything is documented.

Maintaining the fire safety documents, licenses, service reports etc. in a secured manner.

To check monthly the FM-200 fire suppression systems installed in the IDF rooms, server rooms & ensure they are in working condition.

To check daily the ecological units, ESP units installed for the kitchen smoke exhaust system & ensure they are working accordingly.

To conduct evacuation, drill half yearly to make the mall occupants familiar with the fire equipment, exits & the assembly points.

To ensure weekly testing of the emergency diesel generators with manual/auto start mechanism, on & off load & make sure everything is up to the acceptable level.

To quickly respond to the fire alarm location & revert back to the command center according to the set procedures.

POSITION HELD: HEALTH SAFETY OFFICER (MAY 2015 TO MAY 2017) ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining good liaison with Qatar Civil Defense Department requirement

Defining, updating and ensuring compliance with policies, systems and procedures related to fire & life safety (evacuation procedures, kitchen hood System, FM-200, fire-fighting system, fire alarm control panel etc.). Developing and practicing special emergency drills.

To quickly respond to any fire alarm, considering it a real one & act accordingly as per the Hotel fire contingency plan, followed by the investigation & incident reporting.

To ensure proper functioning of the fire alarm system by carrying out monthly testing of smoke detectors, heat detectors, MCP's, strobe lights, dampers, elevator recall system (Ground & 1st floor modules), lift/stair pressurization, gas shut off module, flow switch monitor, open/short loop trouble, temper switches etc.

Weekly churn testing of all the fire pumps to ensure they are precisely working on auto & manual mode.

Ensuring additional fire suppression equipment like FM-200, Kitchen fire suppression system etc., for special risks present therein, is properly maintained & that too works accordingly should there be a fire.

To carry out monthly inspection of the central battery systems for the emergency lighting & make sure each and every component, which includes master/slave inverters, batteries, chargers, change-over modules etc., is working as per the standard.

Ensuring monthly testing of the all the gas sensors & emergency shut off switches installed in the outlets in sync with gas shut off mechanism, notification to the main fire alarm control panel.

Ensuring monthly inspection of all the portable first aid fire extinguishers & checking for any deterioration that may affect the operation of a fire extinguisher.

To carry out the quarterly testing & inspection of fire hydrants, hose boxes, first aid hose reels & fire brigade connections & make sure everything is documented.

To ensure all means of egress & ingress are free from impediments & adequately illuminated at all time.
