The last 8 years of my career have been spent making a positive impact on the economy in Bend by selling experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to impact the economy through the direct spending of event participants, by making Bend more attractive to visitors through branding efforts, and I have acted as a marketing consultant for small business owners while selling the marketing products that Visit Bend offers to local tourism partners. I have started my family in Bend and am invested in, and passionate about the community in Bend. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Meredith Lodging, Bend, Oregon (2019 – Present)

Meredith Lodging is a vacation rental management company that started in Lincoln City and has grown organically, and through acquisition, into the Central Oregon DMA. I was hired on as the Director of Group Sales and have spent the first part of this year understanding and servicing existing contracts on the books at Mount Bachelor Village Resort. I have done this while building a model for group sales in the Vacation Rental space to generate additional revenue where groups of homes exist near infrastructure for group business. The model that I am developing at Mount Bachelor Village will be implemented across the Meredith portfolio to mitigate the seasonality of the tourism industry on the Oregon Coast and locally, in Deschutes County.

VISIT BEND, Bend, Oregon (2011 – 2018)

Visit Bend is a Destination Marketing Organization that sets the bar for destination marketing organizations across the nation and does so with an eye towards the future. I am proud of the way that the organization is engaging with Bend residents and working proactively to grow tourism sustainably for the local economy and environment.

Director of Sales & Sports Development (2016 – 2018)

• Successfully engaged the only ever USA Climbing National Championship event ever to be hosted in the State of Oregon securing more than $1.4 million in direct spending for the local economy.

• Secured a bid to host the 2022 International Snow Science Workshop for international snow scientists and generating an 8% increase in October’s projected occupancy rate.

• Proposed and helped to organize the inaugural Bend Women’s March to focus on women’s specific tourism initiatives for the month resulting in a 3% growth in occupancy in the first year.

• Wrote grants and solicited sponsorship for the 2019 USA Climbing Bouldering National Championships to increase the event operating budget by more than $60,000.

• Sold, designed, and placed more than 250 digital and print ads for tourism partners. Marketing sales at Visit Bend generated over $100,000 in revenue annually.

• The software I am proficient in include the Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress for website management, SPSS, and much of the Google platform. I have started exploring CRM tools and look forward to further developing those tools and any others pertinent to future positions.

Group Sales & Special Projects Manager (2013 – 2015)

• Helped to create and operated the Oregon Senior Games for the first three years of their existence growing registration numbers and sponsorship by more than 20% in each year.

• Landed my first new event with an international hostage negotiators’ conference in cooperation with the Bend Police Department bringing in 1,000 room nights to Bend lodging operators.

• Redesigned and reformatted the proposals that Visit Bend’s Director of Sales submits to land events using newly acquired graphic design skills. Visitor Information Specialist (2011 - 2013)

• Restructured the distribution of printed materials program resulting in distributing 150 percent of the paper marketing materials 50 percent more efficiently.

• Led the market research survey team to complete 120% of required responses in the 2015-2016 Summer Intercept Survey project.

• Proactively began assisting with event production and lead generation for new events generating over 450 group sales leads for local sales staff in the first year. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS

I treasure the opportunities that I have had to give back to the various communities that I have lived in since graduating high school. I have led interpretive snowshoe tours for the Forest Service, helped to facilitate Special Olympic events, participated in various ecological initiatives, maintained public art, cleaned up trash in town, and tutored others in a variety of subjects and I love the feeling of community generated through those efforts.

Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism and Commercial Recreation Management. CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2008 - 2010)

Earned an Associate Degree in Tourism and Outdoor Leadership. UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO (2002 – 2006)

Attended, studied general coursework, Latin American studies, leadership, and I played football. This was paid employment in the form of a full-ride scholarship to college for four years. I was a starting Offensive Tackle for three of the four years. During the season the time demands averaged eighty-seven hours per week, while off-season demands averaged twenty-nine hours per week. I was elected team captain by my teammates. This job required strict discipline, teamwork, never-give-up attitude and a good work ethic. Coaches and directors have expressed my strengths as; Problem Solving, Good work ethic, Influencing and Building Partnerships, Leadership, Self-Awareness, Coachable and an active listener.
