Company & Location: Sherwin Williams, Mexico City

Service Line: Oracle Package Technologies

ASCP leader and Process Execution Implementer; 16 months.

Paint Manufacturer industry leader. (Sherwin Williams) Mar 2010 - Jun 2011

Implementation and support of Oracle Financials, SCM, Planning modules in Mexico

Role: I was in charge of the implementation (design, setup, tests, cutover phases) and coordination of the ASCP and OPM (Process Execution) modules for the company divisions Automotive and LACG (108 enterprises), integrating ASCP with manufacturing OPM and with the Demand Planning module Demantra. Analysis and design of the purchasing module (PO) and accounts payable (AP), during the assessment stage for the company.

The role covered an upgrade from 11i to 12 from automotive division and a R12 implementation for LACG division.

During the assessment phase for PO I found out that LACG required a way to substitute a travel card they had for the purchases performed through the planning area. With the implementation of ASCP the use of this card was obsolete.

Restructuring of the Requisition approval process because the LACG personnel didn’t create requisitions, I proposed the creation of PO Requisitions by area in the company.

Restructuring of the PO approval process through a direct approval method.

Definition of a material consignment method, that allowed the company to pay only for the merchandise consumed.

Creation of an automated method for Quotation analysis with the use of Oracle.

ASCP substituted mrp/mps 11.5.10 functionality. With the implementation of this module the company was able to increase long and midterm demand/supply visibility. Creation of a DRP plan which the company was able to plan product transfer through different source locations.

Allow to plan in advance for expected demand peaks.

All item data were stored in a central database and used in planning functions.

The company could keep their performance measurements like:

Product availability: higher than 97.5%

Product service level higher than 93%

Product buffer shortage: reduced the 7%

Product buffer excess: less than 7%

The material inventory buffers covered between 8 and 14 days.

PE with Batch functionality could cover track the different products they manufactured, Intermediate items, master production items, filling items, outside processing items, relabeling-for imported items. The batches created were full integrated with quality module to record results with product development with the formulas created and with inventory module. Implemented in Automotive and LACG division
