Roles and responsibilities:
I was working as a marketing trainee and was undertaking the work of business to business marketing and sales.
I was assigned in the ice-cream division for the first week where I was appointed at particular area for doing B to B marketing and had to take orders and had to forward the order to the nearby distributor.
Also, I had to ask the retailers about the complaints and what all additional benefits they want from Amul and had to forward it to the manager of ice- cream division.
On the 8th day of my internship I was appointed in the milk division and had to fill the retailer’s registration forms of the retailers who are already selling Amul milk and also of those who want start selling Amul milk.
I also had to record the daily sales (no. of packets) of Amul packets and of the other competitors as well and had to convince the new retailers to sell Amul milk inspite of having a low margin on Amul milk.
Then I was asked to make questionnaires for customers as well as for retailers and had to get them filled and on the basis of the questionnaires I had to do an analysis and had submit it to the manager of milk division.
I also had to convince the retailer to open up Amul parlor which will have entire range of AMUL products and had to forward their contact number to the marketing and sales manager.
I was also asked to interact with the customer and know their feedback regarding Amul ice-cream.
Contribution:
I convinced 10 new retailers to sell Amul ice cream and 5 retailers to sell the maximum possible variety of Amul ice cream.
I convinced 4 retailers to start Amul Parlor.
I convinced 6 retailers to sell only Amul milk.
I convinced 17 retailers to start selling Amul milk.
Learning:
I learnt how to deal with the retailers.
Also I learnt about the distribution and operation process of Amul.
I learnt about the various ways of marketing and the impact of marketing on retailers.

I was appointed as a sales trainee and initially was appointed at CSD and billing desk.

This project was completed under the winter internship program (14 days internship) done at Pantaloons retail India pvt.ltd, Bhopal in Marketing. This project report contains the various sales promotion activities undertaken at Pantaloons retail in Bhopal and the various ways of facilitating maximum sales through various discounts, combo offers, and exchange policies and through visual merchandising.
