BTECH –PROJECT:

Project Details

Soil stabilization using Lime & Tyre chips

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of waste tyre chips and lime on the strength characteristic of clay soil. Various engineering properties, index properties studies are carried out on the soil samples, soil samples with tyre chips and lime; by varying percentage of tyre chips and lime by weight of the soil. We did tests for Index properties, Proctor compaction tests, CBR tests, Permeability tests etc. Found out plasticity characteristics of soil have improved.CBR value increased, maximum dry density decreases with addition of tyre chips, permeability value decreased. The optimum content of tyre chips obtained as 8%.
