Fabrication Welder to Current
At the International Machine Shop I started as a fabrication welder helper/apprentice for 2 years before transitioning to a fabrication welder. Here at the International Machine Shop I was working as contract labor. Anytime they needed assistance I was there to assist regarding the skills mention above and other tasks. My duties were to assist lead welder with cutting, grinding, and fitting. As a welder my job duties were to read blueprints and execute the following tasks by cutting, grinding, fabricating, fitting, and welding.

Basic job duties were to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers. Inspect and repair boiler fittings. As a boilermaker my duties were to fit and replace faulty and worn out material that was under immense pressure due to the continuation of refining. Test and inspect boiler systems for leaks and defects. Clean vats using scrappers, wired brushes, and cleaning solvents. Replace or repair broken valves, pipes, or joints using hand and power tools, gas torches, and welding equipment.
