Conduct internal inspections for physical condition, material degradation, thinning & pitting, cracking, erosion, blistering, deformation, trays & internal components for repair/replacement of damaged components
Involve in foundation inspections to check settlement, concrete and fire proofing conditions; additionally check condition of anchor bolts, concrete support, steel support, grounding connection, auxiliary equipment, protective coating, insulation, guy wires & tensioning, ancillary attachments, and external metal surface
Supervise daily work assigned and follow-up on implementation of approved ITP
Organize daily quality-related tool box meetings involving Inspectors, Welders and construction staff to discuss various technical and quality-related issues along with recommending solutions to resolve the same
Lend presence in daily/weekly meetings with client/s, and subcontractors to discuss problems arising on the site; prepare and share minutes of the meeting accordingly
Complete accountability of hot taping jobs across all projects and carrying outfield inspections of all rotary and static equipment
Instrumental in inspecting piping prior to erection to verify all interiors are clear of foreign materials. Check edge preparation and fit-ups to verify all areas to be welded are free of contaminants and fit-up is within tolerance ensuring compliance with standards, drawings, and agreed quality parameters
Diligently conduct welding surveillance before & after welding. Inspect joint preparation, configuration and cleanliness by verifying use of pre-heat as specified, and use of approved welding procedures/specifications
Visually examine root passes for proper procedure, penetration, undercut, cracks, slugs and porosity; check complete joints for desire contour, excessive reinforcement, and other surface irregularities ensuring proper usage of identification stamps by Welders
Key role in witnessing all pre-commissioning activities, hydro test of piping, valves, WQTs, MPI/PT/HT, welding audits, verification of WPS requirements, including ampere/voltage/gas flow rate, verification of heat inputs using correct electrode, and stainless steel filler wires
