I am a professional, friendly, organized, self-starting, fast learner, reliable, loyal and hardworking employee anxious to learn all aspects of my job in order to fulfill all expectations of the position. I like feeling that I am doing my job properly and that I am doing better than anyone has done or could do. If I am given a duty, I like to get it done in a timely fashion. I do not like to make others wait for me to finish as it puts more stress and pressure on both parties. QUALIFICATIONS:

I have many qualifications from past experiences. I carry a Class B CDL. Have some medical knowledge from being employed at the hospital and medical clinic. Very knowledgeable of caring for the elderly and ill patients. My computer skills are not what they used to be and my typing is rusty but I am a fast learner and could improve quickly in those areas. I am a very personable person. Get along well with others, and thrive on doing a job well done. I really enjoy learning new skills and pride myself on learning them quickly.

I graduated from Pacifica High School in Shore Acres, California in 1970 on the “B” honor roll.

Duties: I greeted all customers with a smile and conversation. I checked out customers with their groceries. If a customer needed help finding items I helped them by taking them to the item or items they were looking for. If there was a shortage in another department such as curtesy, floral delivery, deli, produce, stocking shelves I would without hesitation I would fill in. When the new self-check outs were installed, I assisted customers learn how to use them. I used down time to clean and restock shelves.

Reason for leaving: My arthritis in my feet and hands was returning and was very uncomfortable and painful so decided it was time to find a less stressful job.

October 2014-September 2016

Position: Personal Care Giver

Duties: Getting patient out of bed, preparing breakfast and lunch. Making sure she receives medication. Assisting with her bathing, dressing, games, shopping, doctor’s appointments and other activities she required. Also did cleaning, laundry, decorating, travel and any other personal care.

Duties: included assisting residents to the dining room for meals, picked up dirty dishes, washing and putting away dishes, set tables for lunch and dinner. Also prepared breakfast and lunch every other weekend.

Reason for leaving: the position required being on my feet and with my arthritis, I suffered lots of pain. Decided it was healthier for me to find a new place of employment without so much standing.

February 2011- May 2012

Company: St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center

Position: Admitting

Manager: Geri Lyons-279-3500

Duties: included registering patients for procedures at the hospital, checking patients into the Emergency Room, verifying insurance, answering phone, receiving co-payments, and many other daily duties. Position required precise and accurate information gathered insurance companies, doctors and patients.

Reason for leaving:

To be perfectly honest the manager and I never bonded well, and it made for a stressful and harassing position for me. As loyal an employee that I had been for St. Luke’s for a number of years I felt I had to leave the position.

May 2006-February 2011

Company-St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center

Position: Patient Ambassador (PAL)

Duties:

The position as Patient Ambassador at Luke’s (PAL) was established for us to assist nurses with the patients and their families. We filled out menus, assisted with bathing, walking, feedings, dressing changes, cleaning their rooms. Sitting with patients, reading to them, playing games or visiting with them, hand holding, and a lot of reassurance.

Reason for leaving:

The program of Patient Ambassador was terminated by St. Luke’s, and those of us involved in the program were given new positions.

August 2001-AUGUST 2005

Company: St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center

Position: Office Assistant Community Relations

Manager: Janet Flanagan

Duties:

Included answering telephone, ordering, inventory and selling of items at the “Logo Shop” General secretarial duties including payroll, organizing and alerting media of news releases. Position also included scheduling media and educational interviews with hospital staff. I also assisted with special projects such as ground breaking for new surgical center, office relocation and etc.

Reason for leaving:

Due to cut backs at the hospital the position was terminated.

October 1998-August 2001

Company: St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center (Grandview Clinic South Sioux City NE)

Position: Office Coordinator

Duties:

Included assisting the two office managers with the daily routine and running of the medical clinic. I was in charge of payroll and employee’s confidential personnel files for 75 staff members. I did typing, filing and computer work for all department heads. I also relieved the switchboard operator and receptionists. I was responsible for all building and grounds maintenance and up keep, such as snow removal and lawn care and also housekeeping and pest control. I ordered and dispersed office supplies, kept office manuals for Fire and Safety, MSDS, office polices and etc., up to date. Was in charge of Fire and Safety inspections, drills, emergency lighting and alarms, Wrote the monthly clinic newsletter and calendar.

Reason for leaving:

Due to budget cuts through St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center my position was terminated.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I am 67 years old, and live in Sioux City.

My husband David and I have been married for 35 years. We helped each other raise our children from previous marriages and then we adopted two of our grandchildren which we happily raised for over 10 years. Our children have all left home now and we have down sized our life style so that in our spare time can spend more time motorcycling and camping in Yankton where we have met wonderful new friends We have 10 grandchildren and two great granddaughters. We enjoy spending time with the family and friends. We enjoy playing dominoes and cards, gardening, reading.
