St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center (SFCMC) is a private level 2 – 100 hospital owned and

managed by the Torres Group, the Philippines’ joint venture partners of the Yazaki-Torres Manufacturing, Inc. headed by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Feliciano L. Torres. It is licensed by the Department of Health as a medical center and accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. It is a member of the Philippine Hospital Association.

It is a general hospital admitting patients with medical, surgical, obstetrical and/or gynecological

conditions, as well as pediatric patients and those whose case pertains to specialty services like eyeearnose-throat, orthopedics, etc.

It is an acute care hospital catering to acutely and critically ill patients, not a nursing home or

sanitarium (for the chronically ill or those with long-standing illness). It offers not only therapeutic/curative but also diagnostic services. It provides health teaching, which is health- promotive, disease-preventive and rehabilitative.

SFCMC is the first cancer institute in the Philippines that offers Volumetric Modulated Arc

Job Description:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Clinical Responsibilities:

A.Performs appropriately requested examinations and producing radiographs of good diagnostic quality, in line with departmental policies and protocols.

B.Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.

C.Ensures examinations are conducted with a high standard of care, and is performed using up to date emergency and other protocols

D.Provides appropriate radiation protection to patients, attendant family and staff. Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.

E.Ensures patients understand their procedure. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions

F.Ensures that post procedure instructions are provided to patients and the escort nurse as necessary

G.Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors

H.Records necessary patient and procedure information. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records I. Obtains informed consent from patients prior to their procedure(s). J. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity

K.Maintains confidentiality and the right to privacy

L.Performs roistered after hours duties and on-call

M.Responds to call-outs promptly

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST / ULTRASONOGRAPHER

Clinical Responsibilities:

A.Demonstrates general job knowledge of procedures and equipment necessary for job performance.

B.Performs accurate ultrasound test of a particular area of the body, based on a physician’s order.

C.Performs routine and special procedures in ultrasound in line with departmental policies and procedures.

D.Calculations and measurements of the images are performed and presented to the physicians for a diagnosis and treatment plan.

E.Performs ultrasound procedure under the supervision of a Physician/Sonologist.

F.Forwards recorded images produced for Radiologist review and reporting.

G.Interacts and collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals for providing a good quality care of the patient.

H.Obtains and records accurate patient history, including prior test results and information from physical examination that may yield important diagnostic information.

I.Performs clerical duties such as scheduling exams and special procedure, keeping records and archiving computerized images.

J.Informs the patient regarding imaging procedures, preparations and charges prior the procedure to ensure understanding.

K.Coordinates and answers questions regarding scheduling and patient information.

L.Ensures confidentiality of results.

M.Safety and sanity procedures are performed after each test on the equipment.

N.Maintains adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.

O.Observes and cares for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.

P.Arranges transportation of mobile ultrasound machines to emergency department and patients stations/floors to perform scans.

Q.Performs legal and ethical duties including preparing safety and accident reports and obtaining written consent from patient before performing invasive procedures.
