Global supply chain management

Lenovo Supply Chain consistently ranked on the list of supply chain top 25 by research and advisory firm Gartner Inc for more than 4 years in a row. Supply chain mechanism generates days of inventory (DOI) report that provides optimized inventory quantity for each component to minimize inventory level and backlog. Part Inventory Operation Team and Part Procurement Team uses this data to discover root cause of aged inventory and backlog and provides strategy to reduce excess inventory,reduce backlog and improve customer satisfaction.

Demand forecasting involves anticipating the demand for the product and services of an organization in future under a set of uncontrollable and competitive forces. It enables the manufacturing department to plan production to meet customer requirements. Forecasting supports production scheduling and determining appropriate price policy.
