Qualifications Summary

Qualified to weld horizontal, vertical and overhead positions in mig, arc and flux core; in addition, 5g and 6g pipe welding. Certifications are from American Welding Society testing. Also competent and experienced in the use of torches, track cutters and bevellers. As well as knowledgeable in the use of pertinent hand tools such as drill, grinders, wrenches and all tools common to the welding trade. Use of measuring devices tape measure, calipers, levelers and combination squares are of second nature. Blueprint reading and layout are also mastered skills. In addition, I am well versed in safety procedures and practices of working in dynamic structural fabrication environments.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Rigger/Fitter

October 2015 – present Aerotek (temporary assignment)

Responsibilities: worked as a member of the gantry crane crew. The crew primarily works on move equipment and material around the ship and dry dock. Effectively rigged out various configurations of material and equipment to be moved and positioned safely and control the movement of workers and vehicles in effected areas. Position parts and material for welding, fitting or painting anywhere on ship or dry dock. Required to understand and control lift to weight restraints on anything being moved. Operated fork trucks, hi reaches, trucks, front end loaders and a wide range of hand tools.

Responsibilities: worked primarily on energy conversion plants performing a host of task to repair or replace component part of a plant during a shut-down cycle. Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
