Projects Undertaken

Project 1: Grid Tie Inverter for 3KW Micro Grid System Client: MHRD, Govt. of India

Team Size: 4

Organization: IIT Madras, Chennai

Designation: Project Associate

Role: Team Lead

Description: This device converts 3KW DC power to 1-phase AC power as an Inverter and feeding back excessive energy to the Grid. It is designed to operate at 360 – 440 VDC. Its working is based on an SPWM algorithm and is controlled by a separate control card. High values LC filter is used for getting pure Sine AC waveform.

Responsibility:

Involve in design and development of GTI.

Perform complete Bring-up the board by Testing and Debugging.

Interact with software team member to meet and optimize product design requirement.

Involved in selection of active and passive components for the system.

Coordinate for PCB layout and fabrication process.

Delivered the Board with quality and a stringent timeline.

Understanding the complete functional requirement and domain knowledge. Project 2: AC-DC Converter for 3KW Micro Grid System Client: MHRD, Govt. of India

Team Size: 3

Organization: IIT Madras, Chennai

Designation: Project Associate

Role: Hardware design and testing

Description: This device converts 1-phase AC power to 3KW DC power as an Inverter. It is designed to operate at 200-240V AC. Its working and controlling are based on PFC Boost algorithm, High values Capacitors are used for getting pure DC.

Responsibility:

Designed and developed PFC Boost based design.

Troubleshooting the problem occurred in driver board & Converter board.

Involved in ADC measurements and Communication Section.

Understanding the complete functional requirement and domain knowledge.

Responsible for the system integration and debugging.

Involved in selection of active and passive components for the system.

Perform Testing, Calibration and Debugging.

Project 3: DC-DC Converter for 3KW Micro Grid System Client: MHRD, Govt. of India

Team Size: 4

Organization: IIT Madras, Chennai

Designation: Project Associate

Role: Hardware design and testing

Description: This device converts 380-420VDC to 48VDC on 3KW, its working and controlling are based on Phase Shift full Bridge algorithm with zero voltage switching and synchronous rectification. Responsibility:

Involve in design and development of DC-DC Converter.
