Assess patients for radiation therapy side effects.

Observe and record signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients.

Provide appropriate nursing interventions; accurately document the patient’s status, care given, and the effects of intervention.

Notify appropriate nursing, medical and allied health staff regarding changes in the patient’s status.

Assist patients for radiotherapy treatment as well as to assist weak patients during treatment and watch out for any untoward reactions such as dyspnea or loss of consciousness.

Manages the check-up and follow-up schedules of radiotherapy patients; and ensure completion of the radiotherapy patient treatment chart.

Ensure patient is educated in the treatment procedure and related side effects.

Ensure prompt referral to radiation Oncologists when the need arises.
