PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) – Ergonomics Engineer August 2018 - Present
• Worked with multiple engineering teams to build a Formula-style racing car
• Designed steering components including the rack and pinion using SolidWorks
• Improved the attachment points/mounting that connected the chassis, seat, and harness using iterative design
• Produced detailed drawings using GD&T of components for the manufacturing process
• Assisted the aero team in making the body of the car by creating a body mold Asian Youth Center – Intern June 2016 – September 2016
• Tutored elementary and middle school students in a classroom environment
• Performed receptionist duties (responding to phone calls, greeting visitors, etc.)
• Prepared classrooms before students arrived and cleaned up at closing San Gabriel Library – Intern June 2011 – September 2013
• Edited film using Sony Vegas on the history of San Gabriel
• Scanned and entered data from historic articles onto Excel (newspapers, pictures, etc.)
• Collaborated with a team of volunteers on a program to promote reading for children TECHNICAL PROJECTS
NASA Lunar Surface Operations Dust Tolerant Loose Sample Device – Design Lead
• Designed a sampling device for use on the lunar surface using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
• Reduced assembly weight by 15% through an iterative design process while still maintaining the same rigidity
• Improved device functionality by 38% by reducing the actuation force using SolidWorks Simulation/FEA
• Fabricated prototypes of the device using 3D printing/additive manufacturing (MakerBot Z18)
• Optimized the design for dust tolerance and safety by reducing part count and number of pinch points
• Prepared detailed drawings using GD&T for components manufactured in-house
• Manufactured the device by welding and using machines including the vertical mill, lathe, and wire EDM Wildfire Particulate Dispersion Model
• Created MATLAB code that modeled the concentration of particles on the ground due to wildfires
• Visually showed the wildfire plume concentrations in a contour graph resulting from an inputted wind velocity Stowable Shopping Cart
• Designed a portable shopping cart that could be folded and stowed away into a vehicle’s trunk
• Optimized the cart’s ease of use and weight for those with mobility issues SKILLS/CERTIFICATES
