Job Responsibilities at a glance:-

Reporting to HSES manager

Implementing approved project health and safety plan, policies and procedures within whole level of project operations.

Conducting safety induction training to all new comers and other interested parties involved in construction and commissioning activities.

Promoting health and safety programs and ensuring all health and safety requirements are fulfilled at site.

Ensuring that the occupational health and safety management system is established implemented and maintained in accordance with integrated management system standard and requirements.

Monitoring and measuring HSES performance through internal audits based on ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 to determine further action required for continual improvement of HSES system.

Monitoring and administering a proactive HSE program designed to provide assistance in recognizing, evaluating, and subsequently eliminating or controlling hazardous acts or conditions in construction site.

Setting up a site health and safety organization including safety marshal team and defining their operational roles and responsibilities.

Identifying health and safety training needs within the work force through proactive and reactive performance monitoring methods.

Developing and implementing a site health and safety training program to the work force in line with company health and safety plan.

Organizing and conducting daily, weekly and monthly Tool Box Meeting to workers and supervision and keeping the relevant records.

Arranging sufficient safety signage, posters and notice boards in different location of the project for the workers motivations with HSE information updates.

Conducting fire risk assessment at site and implementing corrective/preventive actions to control and protect combustible materials, flammable materials and ignition sources at site. Deploying sufficient quantity of appropriate portable fire extinguishing agents in the location as per the fire risk rating scores.

Arranging sufficient numbers of fire points at various locations at site for fire emergency.

Providing basic firefighting training to group of site operatives for forming ERT at site.

Implementing PTW for hot work activities at site and monitoring for effectiveness of implementation.

Ensuring all fire exits routes are clear, unlock, signed and maintained well manner to achieve easier site evacuation in case of emergency.

Conducting regular and periodical inspection on all firefighting equipment, first aid facilities and other emergency equipment and maintaining records.

Conducting emergency preparedness training to all site operatives to avoid panic situation in an emergency.

Organizing and conducting site emergency evacuation mock drill for testing and evaluation of the level of emergency preparedness and response within the work force. Errors and deficiencies during the drill will be recorded for taking corrective and preventive actions.

Implementing site environment control measures to protect environment and mitigate adverse environmental impact of work on environment.

Direct interaction and advice within all site operatives including workers, supervision, engineers, and line management on health and safety issues at their areas of responsibility.

Reaching all of the corners of work place for inspection in designated areas of responsibilities.

Participating in all types of site HSES inspections, audits and various HSES meetings conducted at site and maintaining relevant records.

Preparing incident reports and safety statistical reports and maintaining records.

Review of safe work method statement submitted by the construction team and preparing risk assessment.

Preparing risk assessments for critical activities at site and educating workers through TBT for educating those hazards, risks and precautionary measures are required. Monitoring the implementation to ensure the effectiveness.

Reporting near miss incidents and conducting systematical incident investigation to identify root causes and implementing corrective/preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Ensuring availability of PPE for the workers and enforcing them to wear it for full duration of tasks at site. PPE storage, usage and maintenance are educating them during safety induction training and TBT.

Collecting first aid reports from the clinic on daily basis and evaluating the nature of injury and causes of the incident. Conducting refreshment TBT for injured to correct unsafe act and implementing corrective actions in the workplace to avoid unsafe conditions.

Patrol Site frequently and inspect construction activities, equipment, and facilities to determine HSE compliance.

Provide HSE trainings on method statements and risk assessments to be carried out critical tasks.

Monitoring sub-contractor’s activities for HSE compliance.

Implementing environment management plan at site and monitoring the effectiveness of waste segregation, storage and disposal.

Recording MSDS for all types of hazardous materials stored and in use at site. Conducting training to workers for safe use of specific hazardous materials at site.

Monitoring working at height activities and ensuring safe condition and practices.

Monitoring and ensuring adequate fall protections on slab edges and floor openings to prevent fall of man and materials.

Monitoring and advising workers and supervision for protection of electrical sources to prevent fire, explosion and electrocution.

Conducting workplace inspection to identify tools and work equipment are used as per the safety standard, safe manner and in good condition.

Monitoring for adherence of safety and security rules implemented at site.

Ensuring plant, equipment and operators are working at site meeting safety and statutory requirement.

Ensuring periodical inspections and maintenance of equipment working at site and maintaining records.

Analyzing environmental aspects and impacts according to the hazardous properties of generating waste from the construction activities.

Coordination with HSES manager in routine and periodical site inspections.

Continuously monitoring and evaluating project working conditions and safe work practices.

Monitor and evaluate behavioral safety of all site people and provide training towards working safely.

Maintaining all health and safety management records updated and traceable manner.
