Wolfington Body Company provides school and commercial bus sales, service, transportation, and parts. . Wolfington is one of the nation's oldest continuously operating bus distributors and has been serving the transportation needs of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware for 130 years

The main duty of my role as DOT compliance Director is to ensure that all state and federal motor vehicle regulatory requirements are met by the company. The major tasks I cover is to develop and/or maintain a driver qualification program to ensure that drivers are fully trained on hazardous material transportation and follow all regulations. Must stay up to date on all state and federal rules, regulations, and legislation in order to properly interpret them and ensure the company is always in full compliance. Have daily review and oversight of the driver qualification system data and review to ensure daily for accuracy and completeness.

Job Duties:

• Develop and maintains driver qualification program.

• Perform daily updates and regularly reviews data in Driver Qualification System for accuracy and compliance.

• Develop and initiates monthly reports out of DQ system and other sources as requested.

• Stays current on changes to and maintains a library of federal, state, and local transportation and environmental regulations (SME).

• Support the development of transportation regulatory plans or programs for assigned state or federal jurisdiction to meet corporate compliance.

• Obtain, analyze, and communicate critical transportation regulatory information for use by management and related departments.

• Represent the Company at industry committees and working groups.

• Plan, schedules, coordinate, and perform major transportation regulatory and legislative studies and assignments of complex and varied nature and relay to appropriate departments..

• Provide technical expertise to other personnel who may be assigned to assist in carrying out projects and assignments (e.g. HR and Berlin Health Unit).

Priority Express is comprised of several business lines, of which I was part of their freight management division.

Managed receipt, distribution, and recordkeeping of mail and freight, including inbound scanning and sorting, distribution route scheduling for 22 routes, and mail overflow coverage

Ensured that inbound freight matches bill of lading and that outbound shipments were distributed on schedule via the most effective route

Responsible for personnel scheduling and time entry for a team of 15 warehouse and office staff

Incorporated new policies with the maintenance department to ensure repairs on the fleet of 30+ units were done so in a timely manner

Conducted ride along meetings with drivers to help improve performance objectives

Ensured all drivers were properly trained in the Peoplenet onboarding technology

Mandated new policy and procedures for the Transportation Department including accident investigations, record keeping and knowledge of DOT rules and regulations

Ensured all drivers met DOT regulations and standards (i.e. COV, background checks, medical cards, “hours of service,” roadside inspections, proper pre and post trips, etc.)
