OBJECTIVE

I am a mechanical artisan, a professional boilermaker from the manufacturing, construction and mining industry. Highly technical, able to address a number of boilermaker maintenance and repair issues. Strong welding experience, mathematically and mechanically inclined. I consider opportunities that will propel me towards my goals of becoming a complete engineer, opportunities that will help me utilise my strengths and sharpen my weaknesses. Overall I am looking forward to advancing myself in terms of new paths a new experience.

EXPERIENCE

Occupation: Boilermaker Artisan (project for a municipal taxi rank at Randfontein)

Duties: Fabrication of steel structures, weld, assembly, installations and use of hand power tools, guillotine and bend press.

Duties: Assist in the completion of phase 2 of the chrome recovery plant, initiate modifications and execute planned tasks and attend to boilermaker problems, perform duties as per assigned by the foreman. Inspect materials, products or equipment to detect defects or malfunctioning. Lay out full scale drawings of the piping system supports and related equipment following 3D and 2D drawings. Conduct risks assessment DSTI and fulfil PTOs.

Duties: Troubleshoot and perform route repair and maintenance work, working with a team of boilermakers to assemble structures as per Job Card/ order book. Fabricate, assemble and weld. Attend and conduct safety meetings and participate in risks assessments, allocate tasks to subordinates. Ensure all materials spares and equipment are available as required.

Duration: 31 July 2017- 29 September 2017 (end of contract)

Company: Group Five Oil & Gas/ Projects

Duties: marking off and fabrication of steel and other metal stock according to drawing and otherwise. Repair metal products and structures including assembly, erection and welding. Attend and conduct safety meetings and participate in risks assessments.

Assigned at Midvaal Structures workshop, fabricating for a Redis project, Bhubesi Projects and Eskom Medupi projects Returned to Group Five Projects were I worked on a project at Khathu (solar panel power plant) finished of my training at Group Five projects wherein I qualified as a Boilermaker Artisan.

Quality Control Analysis-conducting test and inspection of products, services and processes to evaluate quality and performance.

Good proficiency with all power and hand tools operations

Outstanding skills in schematic and blueprint interpretation CAD/CAM detailed drawings

Fabricate and assemble according to drawing

Conduct welding operations in overhead, flat and vertical stances

Cutting metal works components using hand shear and power tools

Acetylene torch handling competent

Correct any expansion, shrinkage warping of materials

Use precision equipment to measure metal gaps grooves and angles

Removing welding surfaces and spats using portable grinder

Providing assistance with routine repair maintenance works as necessary

Inspect equipment for problems and flaws and notifying supervisors accordingly

Knowledgeable in safe and effective handling repair of an array of potentially hazardous boilermaker and welding equipment
