Title: Development of High Efficiency Class D Amplifier for Driving Acoustic Transducers Description: Class D Amplifiers are most efficiet and high power capabilities with signal range of 10 to 100 kHZ. This is the research frame work targeted to build a class D amplifier with reduced board size for the marine hydrophone applications.
Class D power amplifier consists of an OPAMP based triangular waveform generator, comparator, switching circuit (using MOSFETs), and a low pass filter. Class D amplifier works similar to synchronous buck DC-DC converter, initially audio signal (10-30 kHz) is compared with the high frequency triangular waveform to generate PWM signals. PWM signals are then given to MOSFETs driver circuit i.e. the voltage level of PWM signal is shifted up to drive the MOSFETs. Since, the MOSFETs are used as a switching elements, power handling capabilities of audio amplifier will be higher. A LC band pass filter is connected at the output stage of amplifier is to eliminate the high frequency noise from the amplified input signal and to pass input signals of frequencies ranging from 10 to 30kHZ PROJECTS:
