GEODESIC DOMES IN LOW COST HOUSING

Geodesic domes are hemispherical, thin-shelled structures based on an interconnected system of geometric shapes. This shape combines the stability of circles with the structural strength of a triangle, rendering it capable of resisting all types of loading. A simple truss work of bamboo is used as the skeleton of the structure burlapcrete is used as a covering material.

Constructing houses using this technology ensures that minimum amount of materials are required making it highly cost efficient, structurally simple and easy to duplicate for mass production. MINI PROJECT:

CONTAINER PARKING SOLUTION

Used shipping containers are recycled and stacked vertically. A scissor lift is attached to either the side or the front. Using this solution enables the storage of approximately 43 bikes for mid to long term duration. It protects the bikes from damage due to natural exposure and possibility of theft. During one week internship program I visited KGN Construction site, Kairali Construction site, Vizhinjam Harbour site, LULU Mall Thiruvananthapuram construction site.

Completed 5 days Internship Program at Kollam bypass road project and Ashramam link road project constructed by CVCC and RDS joint venture

SEMINAR:

CONVERTING BULK NATURAL WOOD INTO A HIGH-PERFORMANCE STRUCTURAL MATERIAL

This two-step process involves the partial removal of lignin and hemicellulose from the natural wood by boiling process in an aqueous mixture of NaOH and Na2SO3 followed by hot-pressing, leading to the total collapse of cell walls and the complete densification of the natural wood with highly aligned cellulose nanofibres.
