Dear FEMA:
I’m writing to express interest in employment with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. I am very interested in this opportunity and believe that my qualifications, education, and professional experience make me an exceptional candidate.
I am a retired, 22-year, Active-Duty, United States Air Force Master Sergeant who directly supervised up to, and including, as many as 90 Security Forces personnel protecting multi-billion dollar assets and providing law enforcement operations. Throughout my career, I maintained a “SECRET” security clearance and was actively monitored under the Personnel Reliability Program. (PRP)
Enclosed is my resume which more fully details my background and work experience, including recent certification from the State of Nebraska as a certified Public Information Officer, and how they relate to your position. As you can see, I have extensive leadership experience coupled with thorough training and Bachelor’s degrees in both Emergency Management-Intelligence & Security/Private Sector Management and Communications-Journalism/Creative Media.
In addition to my extensive security and law enforcement experience, I also established a former career in logistics for 6 years, and also served as a volunteer firefighter in my community for five.
I started my Air Force career in 1992, as a logistics journeyman. I learned supply chain management to include storage, distribution, repair cycle support, and major aspects of finance and budgeting.
As a firefighter, I responded to as many as 50 calls for service per year. These ranged from assisting on-duty medics and driving the ambulance to fighting structure fires, wild fires, and conducting passenger extrication from auto accidents and water rescue.
I firmly believe that I will be a valuable asset to your team. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and how my experience could help FEMA achieve its goals.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Kindest regards,
Justin W. Doering
