Attitudes, beliefs about causes and effects of osteoarthritis and its self managing strategies have been examined

Despite the large numbers of persons affected, osteoarthritis is often overlooked as a topic of psychosocial research. Understanding of health and illness are important in determining how patients perceive and cope up with their situation. The term self-management implies a shift of responsibilities from health care professional to the individual for day to day management.

Professional Experience:

Junior Physiotherapist, Ayush Diabetes and Neurology Clinic April 2019 – till date

Duties:

Treating patients having spine related problems like SI Joint Dysfunction, Scoliosis, Radiculopathy and any other Joint Dysfunction.

Treating neurological problems like hemiplegia (Stroke), Hemiparesis, Bell’s Palsy and fascial Palsy.

Upper limb and lower limb fractures

Shoulder problems like (frozen shoulder, Shoulder arthritis shoulder impingement and rotator cuff tears.

Handling cases of polyarthritis and osteoarthritis.

Home visits like for geriatric care and stroke patients.

Treating techniques: electrotherapy, manual therapy and different group exercises.

Academic Visits:

Visited the old age homes and women’s health hospitals in navi-mumbai for community based rehabilitation.

Visited special schools for the treatment of neuro rehabilitation.

Visited the several medical camps in nearby villages near Panvel, Navi-mumbai

Visited the Primary Health Care Centre at Tara, Navi-mumbai

Attended eight day workshop of certificate course in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT)

Attended a workshop on Brunnstrom’s Approach: Assessment and treatment for hemiplegia

Attended a day seminar on participated in national conference on integrating human values in professional education.

Attended a workshop on Basic life support( by American heart association)

Attended a day workshop on basic course in gait analysis (3d)
