Duties: I returned to college in Aug 2012 and have earned a license in Practical Nursing. My rotations included but were not limited to: I participated by assisting with the primary care missions to include some specialty care. I provided individualized nursing care to patients by screening and reviewing medical history, taking their vital signs, and administering the SO part of the note. I performed routine procedures. As a practical nurse I collected specimens for lab analysis in appropriate biohazard, laboratory grade collection equipment. I drew blood, swabbed throats, and provided immunizations to a variety of patients. I at times performed needle sticks for glucose monitoring and eye/throat/nasal and wound cultures for further examination.
