Ø About Mechanical Engineering & Design:

The Mechanical Structure Design comprising a Frame, an Enclosure, and Internal subdivision into functional compartments, forms the basis of the MNS Switchgear Systems. It is equally suitable for the installation of standardized MNS modules and for freely engineered equipment combinations for the generation, distribution and use of Electrical energy.

Ø MNS Engineer V2 : Control & LV Switchgear Configuration (PCC & MCC) Job Description (Roles & Job Responsibility):

Ø Designs & Creates Engineering Drawings & Specifications required for manufacturing & fabrication of ABB’s MNS Low-Voltage (LV) Switchgear and Motor Control Center

(MCC).

Ø Preparing General Arrangement (GA), Typical Cross-Sectional Views, Typical Internal General Arrangement (IGA) Layout Drawing/Floor Planning, for each LV Panel/Switchgear.

Ø Selection & Design of the following specific requirements based on the Type Test results, Engineering Guide lines & Manufacturing Instructions which are best fit for the Switch gear design to fulfill Customer requirements.

i.e.,

· Frames and Enclosures(Sheet Metal): C-Profiles, Base frames (Integral & ISMC), Rear walls, Side walls, Roof plates, Doors and Covers, Partition walls, Bottom plates

& Gland plates

· Internal subdivisions (GSM275/ALZINC): Partition walls, Compartment bottom plates, Closure rails, Frame interlocks, module compartments & internal separation barriers or partitions.

· Busbars (Copper/Aluminium): Main busbars, Distribution busbars, Earth busbars, Control busbars, busducts, Module busbars, IC/OG busbars. Ø Contributes to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process, provides feedback on design aspects and makes necessary modifications. Ø Optimizes designs to meet updated standards, incorporating new products, components and functionalities & Ensures creation of customized designs with high priority. Ø Interacts with customers and provides technical guidance on design related queries. Ø Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of project design assignments. Ø Follows work plans and cost estimates for work in one’s area of responsibility and ensures quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost. Ø Collaborates with the supply chain function (SCM), reviews vendor documentation, prepares request for quotation (RFQ’s), and provides design related evaluation of proposals for non-standard materials and equipment. Ø Supporting sales in creating design solutions to proposals for engineering projects or programs and solving critical technical design related issues & queries from customer. Ø Close co-operation with the other departments like (Planning, Production, SCM, & Quality)

Ø Interfacing effectively with Contractors, Suppliers and Vendors by phone, email and in person to resolve all the Design Related issues & Doubts. Ø Attending GEMBA Meeting every day to resolve & Clarify the design related queries. Ø Closely working in SAP for Creating & Uploading Bill of Material (BOM) and arranging Purchase Requisition (PR) for the Mechanical Materials
