1. Fabrication of screw extruder to manufacture 3D Printer filament (Feb 2015-June 2015): the aim of the project was to fabricate an indigenous and low cost Screw Extruder to manufacture the filament used for 3D printing in the Fused Deposition Modelling process. 2. Influence of Machining parameters on the surface finish during surface grinding
(August 2016 – June 2017): The aim was to attempt to study of machining vibrations with change in certain fixed input parameters. Three output parameters were used and the most optimal condition for maximum surface finish was also determined by using certain statistical analytical tools.
1. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore (1 month) : Understood the basics and working of modern day helicopters and the aerodynamics involved in it. Was also involved in the study of rotary winged flight and helicopter structure study. 2. Rail Wheel Factory, Indian Railways, Bangalore (1 month): A report was prepared proposing the replacement of conventional diesel fired furnaces with bio-diesel fired furnaces while at the same time including the benefits and cost incurred in implementation.
1. Steer Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore (6 months): worked as a Trainee Engineer in the Research and Development Department. Involved in projects that were relating to new forms of extrusion technology, material processing and Research in Food, Pharmaceutical and Polymer Extrusion. Worked in Design, Development and Prototyping of new or existing parts of the screw and extruder barrel. Was also a part of the Cross Functional Team that was involved in resolving technical issues from customer end. Over time I have gained hands on experience in using software such as Solid Works, Draftsight, CATIA and AutoCAD along with practical knowledge on machining and heat treatment.
