-Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the manual operation, setting of the turnouts and confirming alignment of the tracks and giving signal to proceed to the train driver.

Responsible for controlling the operation/maneuvering of the turnouts/switch remotely during the testing and commissioning sessions for CCRM area when Signaling is operating and Third rail is energized.

Ensuring that the turnouts, after each testing and commissioning activities and when not in use, is left in “straight track/default” position with a clamp and lock.

Record and report to APO or Controller on duty for any unusual instances or incidents in the worksite.

Assist the APO for granting special access for Rescue Team / Doha Government Emergency Services during the implementation of Incident Response Procedure.

Responsible for proper application of Cramp and Scroches until Switch Machine will certified for Auto Movement.

Assisting different kinds of testing:

oSignal Track Control (STC)

oSystem Integrated Test (SIT)

oNon-Communicating Object (NCO)

Review and approve or reject the work permit application, if the area is not accessible at a requested time and reschedule the already issued permits in case of emergency or based on the urgency of activities and project

schedule.

Authorize and direct the movement of trains in assigned geographical areas.

Liaise with the Person-in-charge of the working parties while working in Defined and/or Restricted area relating to work/track safety, loading & unloading, movement of trains/ vehicles; and interface with other working parties’ dissemination of adverse weather information and take appropriate Preventive and Corrective actions to ensure work site safety; such Curtailment or suspension of works.

Monitor and interpret the train work station displays and radio operations to determine the status of train operation and work train movement in

conjunction with the train movement scheduled or unscheduled

maintenance activities.

Authorize and control any activity on railway tracks in assigned geographical areas.

Communicate with train operator, shunter or Person in charge to ensure the

safe movement of trains.

Coordinates on-sites or remote activities during emergency or unusual

incident situation, assists in isolating the incident area from all work train

movement and participates in the implementation of repair activities or

incident response procedure
