I made my start in telemarketing when I was 16 as my first real job. I worked for several companies in my home town setting sales appointments for vynal siding, windows, and even taking orders for jams and jellies. We relied mostly on cold calling and a scripted sales pitch. However, I always found it more lucrative to use the script as a base to jump from! People will quickly hang up on a pitch, but if you can show them that you are a real person who is LISTENING to their questions and concerns and genuinely want to share information with them about an amazing deal, they are almost ALWAYS more receptive. At the very least, they will be more polite and friendly even if they're not interested. Show respect and you'll receive respect.

Work Experience
Overnight stocker
Walmart - Myrtle Beach, SC
May 2019 to Present
Stock shelves in general merchandise and grocery departments, keep shelves clean and orderly, put away misplaced merchandise, take care or broken or stolen items, and help customers find what they're looking for and have a wonderful shopping experience! Farm Hand/Laborer
Anderson Farms - Conway, SC
July 2012 to Present
I tend all livestock (horses, cattle, chickens) as well as work in the fields. I plant, hoe, and harvest all of the crops. It is a very physically demanding but quite rewarding job. We try to go by a basic schedule, but as you can imagine, nature waits for no one. The weather can cause schedules to shift, animals break fences or get sick at night, etc. When there is a job to be done, it must be completed no matter what!
Yarn merchandiser, cashier
A C Moore - Myrtle Beach, SC
August 2010 to May 2012
I started at store #109 as a yarn merchandiser. I helped customers find what they needed for projects, kept the yarn and sewing department stocked and clean, unloaded trucks and put away new merchandise, ordered stock when it was low, as well as ran the cash register when needed. I really enjoyed helping customers come up with fresh ideas for projects! I loved brainstorming with them on ways to make their projects better or even save money in making it. If I could help them save $10 on their child's school project, they will come back to our store for the next 5 projects! Cashier/Stocker
Dollar General - Myrtle Beach, SC
March 2011 to January 2012
Ran the cash register, stocked shelves, unloaded trucks, and helped customers in the store. The best part of this job was taking "ownership" of the store where I worked. It wasn't just a Dollar General. It was MY Dollar General. I wanted it to be known as the cleanest, most well stocked and friendliest Dollar General in town!
