The main project done in the final semester of the graduation course is a theoretical one, which gave me a mini work experience . The project titled ‘DESIGN OPTIMIZATION OF A COMPOSITE PROPELLER SHAFT’ dealt with the optimization of design parameters considered in manufacturing the shaft .The optimal thickness and optimal mass of the shaft were obtained considering three materials viz. EGlass/Epoxy, Carbon/Epoxy, Boron/Epoxy, using the GENETIC ALGORITHM tool box of MATLAB.
