Project: "Configuration Selection, Design and Computational Investigation of Cowling System for Microlight Aircraft" in C-CADD, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengaluru.

The detailed study of different types of microlight category aircrafts and BCAR is carried out. Configuration selection of cowling system is made and designed using CATIA V5 software. The influence of designed open air inlets of cowling system to heat transfer in different flight conditions were investigated using ANSYS 15 simulation software and results are compared with the engine operational limits.

Internship: "Study of CSIR-NAL’s Civil Aircrafts and their Engine Installations" in C-CADD, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengaluru. The detailed study of aircrafts that are available in CSIR-NAL i.e. Ultralight Trike, LCRA, HANSA, C-NM5 and SARAS aircrafts and their power plant systems. The feasibility study on Velocity XL aircraft’s Continental IO-550 engine replacement with Allison 250-B17C is done with the consideration of design parameters. The detailed study on CSIR-NAL’s proposed microlight aircraft and its power plant system is carried out.

Project: "Experimental and Computational study of Incompressible flow over a NACA 642-215".

The main objective of the project was to find the aerodynamic characteristics of NACA 642-215. The design was carried out by using CATIA V5 software and fabricated using teak wood, copper tubes etc. The wind tunnel experiments are carried for the fabricated wing model. On the other phase using ANSYS 14.5 software, the CFD analysis is carried out. At last the results obtained from wind tunnel test as well as CFD analysis is compared.
